I did a search for temple, tomb, egypt, and museum and got nothing.

http://www.ncartmuseum.org/templesandtombs/index.html

Anyone been yet? They have a long list of events centered around this exhibition, some of which sound entertaining.

Also seems like an ok date, if the other person is at all interested.

Ive never been to the museum restaurant, is it any good?

Whoa, I didn't think this was starting so early in the year. I will def make a trip to see this exhibit. On top of their already impressive collection for a small state art museum, $10 should not be a factor for anyone to miss this.

The link says that they strongly recommend you purchase your ticket ahead of time. So if you want to hit it up on Sunday it may be smart to grab them during the week.

I'm really excited to go see this. I'm already a huge egyptology fan so this should be good, plus I got to know more about the exhibit while I was interning at the Museum last fall. !!

I went yesterday on opening day and it was awesome. I just graduated with a BA in history so I might be a little biased. But it was a nice variety of objects, statues, and carvings.

I didn't realize how cheap it was to be a Patron of the Museum ($125 for a couple/family)... might just have to look into that.

I just got my tickets but im a bit confused. They sell you a time and a seat, but is that how it works? I had it in my head that this was an exhibition that you can walk around at your own pace and check stuff out.....is that not how it works?

Got mine for friday evening and made a reservation at the restaurant there, should be good times.

They kind of let people in in waves at certain times, but then you are free to wonder around as you please. There are no seats, its probably just a generic ticket printing system.

Yeah, pretty much.

I used to work there. The times are there so that we can control the number of tickets being sold (each half-hour block is allotted a set number of tickets). On a slow day it doesn't matter, on a very busy day you line up and wait for your time to be allowed in. Once you're in you can stay as long as you want.

Given that this show was supposed to be more popular than the clusterfuck that was Matisse and Picasso, I'd count on having to wait in line.

^^ not too bad. i'd say, price wise, it's comparable to eating at applebees for dinner but the food is way better

It wasnt bad. Not as much stuff as i thought there would be. Pretty much looked at everything and read the details in 45-50 min. And that included playing around with the crap in the gift shop next to the exhibit.

The restaurant was good. Serving size was a bit small for me, but it wasnt expensive.

Ironically, temples and tombs are some of the least romantic places

Over the Christmas holiday the Matisse and Picasso show was ridiculous. People typically had to wait at least a half-hour after their assigned ticket times to get in.

Did you have to wait any for the Temples and Tombs show? How was the crowd?

They were in the planning stages for this show just before I left; apparently they were expecting it to be huge.
