wtf is going on again? they are saying $4/gallon by summer and they weren't kidding. shell station in cary already sells premium for $3.16
4/14/2007 7:36:15 PM
it's called summertime. gas goes up every summer. this your first year driving?
4/14/2007 7:40:28 PM
there was a gas station on the news in chapel hell with 3.09 for regular
4/14/2007 7:48:19 PM
is this when they are changing over blends? or is this unrelated to that?[Edited on April 14, 2007 at 8:12 PM. Reason : because it happens twice a year for changing blends]
4/14/2007 8:12:24 PM
Gas does go up every summer, but...$4/gallon? I wasn't paying that last summer. I hope it doesn't go that high...
4/14/2007 8:15:03 PM
they've been saying it'll be $4/gal this summer for some time now... and the current trend supports that. That's why I chose the new job with the gas card
4/14/2007 9:21:24 PM
If gas goes to $4 a gallon there will be screaming for a windfall tax
4/14/2007 9:26:26 PM
^6 besides stating the obvious, you are out of the loop on news. hows the 13mpg truck doing?
4/14/2007 10:00:41 PM
My 110 ain't gonna move once gas gets over $3 a gallon. people laugh that I have a Saturn as well, but that thing is a life saver on gas.[Edited on April 14, 2007 at 10:05 PM. Reason : .]
4/14/2007 10:04:55 PM
Hey Steve, can I buy my Saturn back? My new ones don't get as good gas mileage as ole' silver
4/14/2007 10:12:02 PM
sorry Dennis, I likey the car and the money I save
4/14/2007 11:16:14 PM
$4/gallon? Shit. So much for the Marauder as a DD.Anyone got an old diesel Benz they want to get rid of?
4/14/2007 11:56:06 PM
^^I miss that car and the 40+ mpg on the highway. But my new car has 175hp vs. 100hp in the SL1, and still gets about 32-34 on the highway. The wife's car (Vue with the Honda 3.5 V6) only gets 20-22 highway =(
4/15/2007 12:12:10 AM
Wow. I get as good highway mileage as a Saturn??Ha. Still, $4/gallon is Not Cool. Worse since it takes premium.
4/15/2007 12:30:54 AM
^Don't get your hopes up, it is an SUV. The window sticker says 20 city/28 higway, but that was using the old EPA ratings. Using the new rating system, it is now 18 city/25 highway...http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/calculatorSelectYear.jsp^Old ratings vs. new ratings

4/15/2007 11:14:45 AM
guess I need a diesel truck.farm diesel FTW!
4/15/2007 11:22:44 AM
^^that's pretty good. i've read that the lbz gets worse mileage than the lly though.my 7.3 powerstroke gets about 15 or so around town, but i stick my foot in it frequently and it weights ALOT.my dad's 6.0 powerstroke is a hog. he was only getting about 13-14 around town, up to 15-16 now with the sct tune.^lol, you don't want the dmv to catch you running that stuff. i hear the penalties are pretty stiff. not that they spend time checking light duty trucks though.[Edited on April 15, 2007 at 11:31 AM. 12 mother fuckers. who got me beat?
4/15/2007 5:51:06 PM

4/15/2007 6:07:12 PM
well i ride my bike whenever i can, and at around 35 mpg it compensates for my truck.p.s. jon put a 140 dB horn on his bike[Edited on April 15, 2007 at 6:11 PM. Reason : ]
4/15/2007 6:10:40 PM
^^^me. my duster only gets about 8 under normal driving. ^^5 years? what'd you have before that gixxer?
4/15/2007 7:50:29 PM
enjoy your 17mpg. you'll be paying out of your ass once gas hits $4.
4/15/2007 8:30:45 PM
4/15/2007 8:34:59 PM
^^again, dumbass, i wasn't the one complaining about it.
4/15/2007 10:17:24 PM
i guess i hit a nerv eh fag boy?
4/15/2007 11:59:28 PM
no. i'm used to dealing with stupid people on a daily basis.
4/16/2007 7:29:21 AM
Dear bitches,It is that time of year again and sumfoo1 is going to be laughing every time he hears someone bitch of gas prices. Because i no longer have my drivers license i have put myself into a situation where i do not need a drivers license. I can walk to work, the grocery store, 100+ restaurants & bars, 2 hospitals, 4 parks 2 hardware stores and many many more things...So while you spend $$$$$$ on gas i'm just chillen @ the house spending it on more important things.w00t-sumfoo1Btw... sumfoo1 has decided since there are plenty of e-85 gas stations around his house... his project car will run off e-85/e-100 because with normal gas being $3-$4/gallon + its cheaper to get the crappy mileage off the $2-$2.50 alcohol based and even if its just a tad more expensive.... you also get the bonus of +7 effective octane over premium is nice too.ohh and my t-bird gets 9 mpg.... but driving that is easily worth it.[Edited on April 16, 2007 at 7:57 AM. just filled up with the premium at the shell last night, half tank cost me nearly 30 bucks
4/16/2007 9:39:50 AM
^^ We're all hella jealous. I'd gladly give up my $150/month gas bill in exchange for thousands of dollars in legal fees and no way to drive my ass to the beach.signed-Skack
4/16/2007 10:31:18 AM
not to mention jacked up insurance rates when he gets his license back
4/16/2007 10:35:02 AM
fyi there are sarcastic overtones to the entire thing up there.cept the alcohol part i'm really doing that.trust me... i want to drive... baaad.

Christ guth, don't try to turn this shit into TSB, it's the garage, profit margin is going to be lost on most of these people.Btw folks, this isn't just a "summer" thing.Check this linkhttp://www.ucan.org/gasoline_autos/gas_prices/the_price_of_oil_vs_cost_of_gas_no_correlation

The news tends to repeat the same old same old about oil prices being high in part due to our refineries running at their limits all the time.I assume prices are high because demand keeps going up and there aren't enough refineries to keep prices low (even with the oil there to refine into all the usual products).
4/18/2007 12:45:09 PM
did you read that article posted? I am not saying it is the holy grail of WTF is going on with prices but I can buy it until someone proves it wrong.they are shutting down refineries on purpose!
