4/14/2007 12:32:18 PM
Dude, that's not cold.
4/15/2007 3:04:09 AM
Ran it, finished the 10K in 44:55. The course was measured wrong though I think, my GPS watch recorded it as 5.84 miles instead of 6.1 (of course it could be off some because of the tree cover, but a quarter of a mile is a big difference to just be a GPS error).Nice race though. And it wasn't cold buddy, that was perfect running weather.
4/15/2007 5:33:32 AM
it wasn't too cold, no, but if it was 5 degrees nicer I would've liked it. and yeah I killed your time synchrony[Edited on April 15, 2007 at 9:54 AM. Reason : .]
4/15/2007 9:52:04 AM
So humble as well.
4/15/2007 3:47:52 PM

4/15/2007 9:21:57 PM
I did well, real well, but I want to know what the fuck that dude means!
4/15/2007 9:44:34 PM
haha, well if you're going to make a statement like you "killed" my time, you should post your time. The male course record for the 10k is 32:57.... so what did you get? Sub 40 minute? I don't really train during the winter, I just saw this a week or two ago and thought I'd run it to get me excited about the Peachtree in July.
4/16/2007 8:26:57 AM
hold on ill post his time in a minute
4/16/2007 9:24:16 AM
our receptionist ran this
4/16/2007 9:25:33 AM
I finished at like 40:30. I think the course was rigged, though.
4/16/2007 9:56:58 AM
do not come on here bragging about times in a 10K especially if you do not break 40. Rules about bragging... do not brag about your time in 5K unless you break 18:388K unless you break 32:0010K unless you break 40:00k.
4/16/2007 7:15:17 PM
I agree. [Edited on April 16, 2007 at 7:44 PM. Reason : way slower]

4/16/2007 9:02:26 PM
I'm runnin in a 5k sometime soon, I'll let you know if I break 18:38.
4/16/2007 9:10:51 PM
^w00t!
4/16/2007 9:13:19 PM
If you can swim a 1.5k, ride a 40k, and then run that time, I'll be a little bit impressed, right Abe?
4/16/2007 10:38:10 PM
can't
4/16/2007 10:55:33 PM
my dad and stepmom ran it (the 5k part)they just started getting into runningthey said a bunch of fat people were passing themi thought that was pretty funny
4/17/2007 12:24:04 AM
i ran it about 2 years ago.it was real fun. i was in the running mood for a good year after that.i did couple 5/10Ksnow im trying to get back into it.my time wasnt great. i think i averaged 8:30 mile after stopping to tie my shoe and walking once before that rediculous uphill.
4/17/2007 8:30:10 AM
4/17/2007 9:34:24 AM
i came in last place a few years agoGO ME
4/17/2007 9:49:27 AM
i can understand if he posted his times to compare with others who ran the 10K
4/17/2007 9:54:20 AM
synchrony, I was just busting your balls. anywhere up to 48 minutes is very good in my book.. most of my friends can't even run 8 minute miles. the course had to be measured VERY wrong though. even if you had shitty PDOP your gps watch had to be at least precise enough to pick up on that huge of a discrepency. I dont see how they could mess this up though since this isn't the first year it's been in regency.... they must have messed up the location of the turnarounds, that's the only thing I can figure. and noen, let me know whenever you want to race so I can shut your ass up.
4/17/2007 10:39:21 AM
^ Ok, no problem. I wouldn't care if you were making fun of me anyway, I did better than I did the last time I ran a 10k, so I'm happy. Your time was awesome, I hope I can do as well at the Peachtree, although with it being a good 20-30 degrees warmer it will be hard.I only posted my time to illustrate that the course was poorly measured and I don't think I could have gotten that time on a true 10k without training. I normally try to finish strong, and I was waiting for there to be .25 miles left before I had my final burst of speed and then oh shit, I see the finish line within 100 ft and think wtf?
4/17/2007 10:45:53 AM
I AM RUNNING A 5K IN TWO WEEKS...FIRST TIME IN A COUPLE YEARS...I AM PUSHING FOR UNDER 23 MIN

4/18/2007 9:35:27 AM

4/18/2007 10:17:29 AM
^ yeah they do. I signed up for the Outer Banks Marathon this November http://www.obxmarathon.org/. Should be some nice scenery and a nice flat course if it isn't miserably cold.
4/18/2007 10:21:24 AM
that 10k had to be rigged. I just did a 5k test on the treadmill and clocked in the same pace in the cary 10k. granted it was hot as shit indoors.anyway, running a 5k in raleigh this weekend
4/27/2007 7:20:01 PM
I've met this guy, and that's fasthttp://www.carynews.com/116/story/6069.html5KThere was no error in the length of the 5K course, but someone did let Dan Kahn compete. The Duke University doctoral candidate is training for the U.S. Olympic Trials in November, and the Cary Road Race was a part of his regimen. The 5K was a tune-up before heading to the Penn Relays during the weekend of April 26 and the USA 25 km Championships in Grand Rapids, Mich., on May 12.But a 14:42 tune-up?Kahn broke the previous record of 15:57, held by Peter Ellis, and sent many onlookers into laughter and disbelief at the barely tired and hardly sweating Kahn.
4/27/2007 7:38:08 PM
they had to have messed up the 3.12 turn around. it did feel a little soon, I guess.
4/27/2007 8:05:34 PM
^^Wasn't Peter Ellis on Jeopardy?
4/28/2007 3:40:08 AM
yes. he lost, though. goes to UNC law now I think.
4/28/2007 10:36:58 AM
hahahhaah an 11 year old girl finished under 48 minutes.and Crede, im busting your balls because who cares? I run because I enjoy it, not to win or set records. And hell yes I'm slow
4/28/2007 2:01:03 PM
I like to run competitively so that I can have a goal besides simply having fun. And no one enjoys running... the only thing I enjoy is being done with a run. But that's endorphins.
4/29/2007 7:02:21 PM
peter ellis was fast in hs. VERY fast.
4/29/2007 11:27:22 PM
I ran a 10 mile race last week... and got passed by a joggler.
4/29/2007 11:51:13 PM
that's ok, competing with yourself is the best measure of progress
4/30/2007 12:06:47 AM
that's what the losers say[Edited on April 30, 2007 at 2:15 AM. Reason : jk]
