So no update on PS2?? III

Did they finally release them today? The patch that they put out early Tuesday morning screwed up the game (changing items, deleting saves & sim disks).http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/779/779738p1.html

^I agree. fun game

^^, ^^^I've been thinking about getting this game. I've held off because it looks exactly like X-Men Legends but with different skins. How is it better/worse? same/different?[Edited on April 13, 2007 at 8:14 AM. Reason : -]

I didn't like the changes they made from X-men Legends to X-men Legends II (the first one was better imo). Which one is this closer too? Or did they fix some of the stuff from Legends II?
4/13/2007 9:10:24 AM
Well, for starters, they converted blocking into a regular skill, unlike in X-Men Legends II. It was a power in the previous game. This is helpful especially when you're not doing so hot in a boss battle.Let's see...different uniforms are actually worth something because they have certain attributes. Also helpful.I like the series, but I feel that you need to get this game, or at least try it out especially if you have a 360. Then, not only you get Moon Knight and Colossus as playables, the new downloadable characters are coming out soon. A little incentive.
4/13/2007 9:18:35 AM
its also a lot easier to follow than legends...the screen isnt as busy, but I have to admit it is the most fun if you are playing with 2 or 3 people rather than by yourself.
4/13/2007 11:45:28 AM
Plus, they got rid of most of the micromanagement. You can only equip one item. On X-Men Legends 2, you had three different slots for three different items.
4/13/2007 12:14:02 PM
I really didn't see three items per character as a hassle. Besides, once you factor in the costume attributes you're really back to where you started. Sounds like it is essentially the same game.
4/13/2007 12:26:19 PM
Anyway, I just can't wait until Activision releases the 360 update for this game.
4/13/2007 12:56:19 PM
il get it for ps3 once it hits the bargain bin
4/13/2007 1:03:55 PM
better characters in marvel as well. much better, and they level as you go so you can essentially use anyone you want anytime you want.

^It is more of a 1:1 ratio. If the characters you use have decent levels, the other character's levels aren't too much lower.(Second Question) Unfortunately, that's true to a sense. Make sure when you unlock those characters, that you go in and change it off of automatic spending points. That's all I can tell ya.
4/14/2007 1:33:17 AM
to go along with the automatic spending points also make sure you turn off the auto assign armor, or else when you bring them into your team they will steal the best, even if you are wearing it.

So I finally played the game. As far as comparing it to XML2:Every character has blocking as a regular skill - just like kable333 saidYou do not need to use a skill point to gain access to flight for characters that can. Flight also consumes no power. Characters that do not fly now have a double-jump to help them reach higher areas. You don't have to physically visit anyone to sell unwanted items, you just sell them from the item equip menu. There is also no inventory management/hero stash from what I've seen.As mentioned above costumes have attributes which may be purchased. The 'danger room' missions all seem to take the form of an individual character doing some task and beating some boss within x minutes - similar to the final exams on XML2 except you are soloing.I haven't seen a way to increase stats (body, focus, strike, etc.) other than by finding upgrades hidden throughout the levels.Skill points did get assigned automatically for me as well. I ended up with about 5 automatically spent points on characters I wasn't using before I knew I had access to them to shut the 'feature' off.You don't have to carry/use health or power packs. Crates and enemies randomly dispense orbs that refill your meters. When you die you don't buy the character back (from what I've seen) - there is a cool down period in which the character is no longer available.Other than that the games are pretty much similar.
4/18/2007 8:15:20 AM
^Yeah, you pretty much hit the nail on the head. I still play the game, and I'm hoping that they get the bugs fixed on the new characters and release them soon. It would give me more reasons to play.

sometimes this game pisses me off and i just have to put it down
4/30/2007 11:24:07 PM
why is that?
4/30/2007 11:31:31 PM
just cause, sometimes there is a part thats annoying and you die when you weren't even close to dying, i cant explain, we're just playing coop sometimes and like we'll die because we get "stuck" because we're at different sides of the screen, hard to explain im sure youve encountered it where you cant move because your teammate is going the other way and the screen only stretches so far
