anyhow, wouldnt the opposite of misogynist be a philandrist?hater of women <-- opposites --> lover of menand would that somehow be a paradox, since the opposing states could (apparently) easily coexist in the same person?

^ Actually the opposite would be lover of women. You are taking the entire phrase and switching all words when the subject of the sentence if applied to you would be "I love women". It would then be "I hate women". English language isn't like math

Probably because males have been the dominant sex all throughout history, there aren't tons of songs written about men as sexual objects, wives are beaten far more often than husbands, and so on.
