that engine alone is worth 10K
4/9/2007 1:14:00 AM
^ Yea I think it is a really good deal for someone
4/9/2007 9:54:09 AM
^^haha, where the fuck are you buying your Yamaha 90hp 2-stroke engines from? That engine is worth about 5 grand brand newits a nice boat, nonetheless, you could probably get $10,000 for it[Edited on April 9, 2007 at 10:17 AM. Reason : asdf]
4/9/2007 10:16:33 AM
ahh, yeah 2 stroke isnt that much anymore
4/9/2007 12:07:47 PM
^ Yea they have gone down some recently, I still prefer the 2 stroke on this boat because the gas milage is only slightly better on the 4stroke (see scout's yamaha performance guide) and the pickup to get on plane is great with the 2 stroke. Also, you generally dont have to worry about as many major problems with a 2stroke as the oil is already mixed in the gas. The main thing I like about four strokes is they are really quiet (I thought my engine was quiet until I heard the 100 4stroke yamaha)

my dad and I are in the market for a boat. he's putting up the majority of the money, so i'll let him know about this. i'll let you know
4/9/2007 2:45:55 PM
^ Sounds good man, just let me know.
4/9/2007 2:49:59 PM
seaworthy?
4/9/2007 7:40:08 PM
^what a dumb question
4/9/2007 9:06:01 PM
I'd buy this with a 4 stroke
4/9/2007 9:10:26 PM
The boat wasn't designed for a 4-stroke. But man if I was in the market for a small boat, I would give this a look. Nice ride man.
4/9/2007 10:23:17 PM
Not to my personal liking, but a damn good boat. Pardon me while I dump this in reverse to the top. Good luck on the sale. Price isn't really off base at all...except for the typical "gimme" Tdub assholes.

scouts are great and very seaworthy. they are typically wider and heaver than a lot of CC fishing boats (of course this is not always true), making for a smooth ride. @ 17 feet with a 90 hp, you ride just fine toobtw, my dad is thinking it over. he wants more of a v or deep-v, and our neighbor has an old POS that he's selling for $1000 and for some reason my dad wants to splurge on that, which baffles my mind.[Edited on April 10, 2007 at 12:33 AM. Salt or freshwater use?
4/10/2007 4:51:55 PM
^ Mainly Freshwater, it was in salt water (manns harbor) about 5 times mainly in 2000-2001 but was flushed out after each use.
4/10/2007 5:00:07 PM
geez people. Just cause I have no idea what a scout is you jump on my case... ahhh tww
4/10/2007 6:17:39 PM
^ I didnt jump on your case, I just explained why a scout was very seaworthy since I assumed u did not have any experience with them.
