they should just make the national championship #1 in the sec vs #2 in the sec. no one is going to come close, except maybe southern cal.

they must have gone to georgia tech during a georgia game b/c otherwise their stadium is never even close to full and usually has as many fans from the opposing team

The concourse at Kenan is small. When I went in there one time, it seriously felt like 1/2 to 3/4 the size of Carter-Finley's.People talk about how beautiful the area surrounding Kenan Stadium is and all the trees, but we've got trees too. In fact we have people tailgating amongst some of the trees at the athletic complex. I remember when the student lot used to be the old Trinity lot instead of the Fairgrounds lot, which was a free public first come first serve lot, and the walk to the stadium was incredible. Getting in wasn't as much of a chore as it is nowadays, and you could tailgate longer if you wanted. You'd take a beer or two with you around 15-20 minutes before kickoff and head on to the stadium. Along the way you'd have to walk through what I called the forrest lot, and you'd come out of the wooded area, and see the stadium rise up above all the tailgaters. Plus it didn't really seem like you had to worry about the ALE or cops bothering you.[Edited on April 3, 2007 at 10:31 PM. Reason : ]

you have to walk through the woods to even get to kennan, that sucks

I honestly do not see what's the fascination with Kenan. True, they have a few pine trees. True, they have a good weight room. But beyond that... their seating is too tight, their concourse is too small, the asphalt in the concourse is old and cracked and uneven, the stairs to the upper level seating are too small, the press box and luxury boxes are just flat out weird looking ... I just don't see what the fascination is.

lines for bathrooms suck at kenan too. at the state game last season, i waited for like 20 minutes. but then again maybe it's not the stadium, maybe it's just the fact that so many male tarheel fans sit down to pee.[Edited on April 4, 2007 at 12:11 AM. Reason : .]

^Haha I love how they have the dividers if you will between the urinals so those cocklookers can't look at us straight guys.

I actually think it's a great situation here at Carter finley- We left the north end zone capable of adding an upper deck, it'll be a long time before it happens, but I'd expect us to be upwards of 70k in 7-10 years. We enjoy tailgating, and a rather raucous stadium for under 60K. Some recent loud games to me are UVA 2004 and FSU 2006 (this year). I'd say we certainly represent the crowd size of at least 75K, when we have much less than that. I wouldn't put is in Death Valley's level, or even Doak for that matter, however if we ever get to 80K, it would be pretty nasty. At Kenan, it's a totally different atmosphere. It's not that loud, the concourse is very small and makes it very difficult to walk through with more than 17 people on the concourse at the same time, and they have backrests on their seats which is terrible for guys over 5'10". Yea they have some nice trees and other scenery, but that's not what I look forward to on Saturdays in the fall, I'm kind of interested in football when I head off to the stadium. The lack of tailgating is what is really laughable at Kenan. Also, don't try and get out of Chapel Hill until about 3 hours after the game, that's certainly not anyone's fault, but doesn't change the fact that the city is a zoo on football Saturdays. Their fans can rant and rave about Kenan and their fanbase (and they have beaten us outright 2 years in a row, and 3 years in a row in the record book) but Mack brown left UNc for the simple fact that UNC lost two games in 96, lost one in 97 and on senior day in 97 with an alliance bowl caliber team, couldn't fill Kenan up against hated rival Duke with a rock solid team. All I got to say is good luck Butchy. If he doesn't win 7 games next season, it'll go right back to regualr ole Kenan in no time in 08. I'd like for TOB to contribute to this.[Edited on April 4, 2007 at 12:26 AM. Reason : .]

Duke use to be nasty back in the day according to my step dad...don't really have any facts to back that up. Just hearsay.CF is definitely better overall than Keeeenan anyday IMO.
