Car is 1999 Toyota Corolla CE, automatic, approximately 110k on the clock, tranny had some kind of flush at the dealer around 70 or 80k.

Yesterday I was out driving my dad's car for a few minutes when I noticed that it seemed to be taching a little higher than normal at about 40 or 50mph. This car has no tach but I could tell by the engine sounds that it must have been 3000+ rpm that would steadily increase or decrease as speed changed. This indicated to me that the tranny was not shifting properly.

Starting slowly, I could feel it shift into second, but then it never seemed to go into third and kept revving as I just described. I went back to the house and popped the hood, and checked the dispstick. It was slightly lower than the low indicater for "Cold" -- so significantly below the the low indicator for "hot." I added about half a quart of Dexron III ATF per manufacturer recommendation. I took the car out and now it shifts fine.

Should I be worried about this tranny? I thought you shouldn't be losing tranny fluid (at least not noticeably) over time. Does it need another flush? Neither I nor my dad has noticed any leaks on the ground, and the dipstick did not smell burnt.
