are you serious? there's a law against "open alcohol"? is this in a car? if you're not drunk, why should it matter?

Court cost is $110, there's a fine on top of that. Probably only like $25 though.

I got an open container ticket in a motorized vehicle (ECU bus) in January...

Shit is getting dismissed after $200 in Lawyer fees and 12 hrs. community service

I got one awhile back too. I just paid the fine and that was the end of it.

reason I ask is I have a bet with my roomate on how much the fine is. The only thing I can find is that it is up to 1000

$ 25 and costs (was 105 when I worked there, might have gone up to 110 though)

its just an infraction


they just changed the law within the last 2 years that states that you may have an open container in a vehicle as long as teh driver has not been drinking. We used to drive around raleigh and drink on the way to the bars as long as we had a DD before hand
