Of these 4 dynmaics courses what would you take and what professor? (whats the easiest one?)MAE 208 or CE 215: DynamicsCE 313: SolidsMAE 301: ThermoMAE 308: FluidsThanks for any help.

There been like 3 of these threads the past month but I'll repeat, 301 with boles, ce 215 with parrish ftw, 308 with ma (lesser of two evils), and mae 208 they're all horrible imho so just go over to ce 215.

dynamics is pretty much high school physicssolids is easy if you did well staticsthermo and fluids will eat your children--as far as professors go, holt is awesome for ce214 but doesn't teach much, my 313 professor was ramaamammdammada and i hated him, and i had kleinstruer for thermo [Edited on March 27, 2007 at 4:21 PM. MAE 301 is probably the easiest out of that group, and if you ever plan on taking the FE it will be the most helpful too.

MAE 208 with Silverberg is easy.MAE 308 with Ma is supppppperrrr easy.

I see from your info that your major is IE. From that I would suggest taking thermo, it would be the easiest. Solids would probably be most applicable to your major. Whoever said that dynamics was like high school physics, they are wrong. Statics is like high school physics on speed, and dynamics is the sequel to to statics. I would advise against taking fluids, it is one of those things that you either get or you don't. Lots of people have trouble with it (I don't really see the fuss about it... I have been taking more in-depth fluid classes for the past two years for aerospace), but it doesn't really relate to your major so don't worry about it.

I'd guess Solids would be easier than Thermo...and CE solids would be easier than ME's (From what I hear, take CE Solids and ME Dynamics)Solids is much much easier than Dynamics. Abhinav Gupta is good, Tayebali is good, Hassan is good, Matzen is good (Not sure who's teaching it)I took CE fluids, and it's not incredibly hard, but was very very boring. Solids was pretty cool (Then again, I am a Structural Engineer, so I liked that kind of 'building block' stuff of what I wanted to do with my life)
