Has anyone watched this yet? The first two episodes are On Demand. I won't have time to watch them until tomorrow night.

It's pretty obviously a response to Rome on HBO, but the subject matter interests me.

Mediocre writing and acting. Wishes it could be Rome

The acting looks like what you see out of a porno, to me, from the commercials.

I watched the first three episodes. The next two are better than the pilot. There's no way this is gonna be 10% as awesome are Rome, but I'll probably keep watching.

It's no Rome, but it works as a show. I suppose Showtime had to play up the T&A angle in order to get an initial set of viewers. Writing is okay, but I haven't been blown away by it.

tonight featured considerably better writing than the pilot, i'm interested to see how they proceed with the portrayal of the English Reformation

i liked the mention of other historical contemporaries too - Luther, Machiavelli, etcetera - it helps further as far as putting everything into the context of the times

It's growing on me.

[Edited on April 8, 2007 at 11:16 PM. Reason : Is it bad that I mainly watch to see Sam Neill?]

Remember when Stargate SG1 was on showtime and it had full frontal nudity? Their niche is making crappy, seedy shows.

I prefer 'His Eminence' to any other role I've seen him in

Are you? I started watching the third episode but fell asleep. If Anne Boleyn ever gets naked, someone be sure to bttt this thread so I can check it out.

I'm pretty sure she got naked in a dream sequence in episode 3.

I watched episode 4 yesterday. I'm not really sure it will hold my interest for much longer. Someone needs to hurry up and kill something.

I am still watching it.

And yes, Anne was naked for a short dream sequence in episode 3. Showed some of her left nipple.

meh

It's okay, but I have no idea where this shit about Margaret and Portugal came from: it's completely made up. I think they mixed her up with his sister Mary (though she went off and married an old French king, not a Portuguese one).

Yeah, you're right. Not that the Tudors were strickly following the history books to begin with, but this sort of gross historical detour only further destroys the series.

This show is so bad, any episode without nudity is a complete waste of airtime.

Watched the pilot, it was terrible, got through about 15 minutes of the next episode and just stopped watching.

It's basically soft-core porn set in 16th century England
