Looking for an ice machine that make flaked ice ( like the ice at andy's or zaxby's), everywhere i have found has had ones that make 400 lbs a day and retail for 2000-3000. I am looking for something mcuh smaller around 50lb a day an under 1000 to give to my mother for her birthday. Any help would be much appreciated.

I know they don't really make those in small sizes, but you could try a restaraunt supply store (there's one around here...maybe somebody knows the name/location), or keep an ear out for businesses that recently closed. You can often buy stuff from them.

The one we have does cubes but the kitchen at my office has a small Kitchenaid under counter icemaker that can do 50 lbs a day. Similar to this : http://www.universal-akb.com/18kiicemaku.html . They are also listed at Lowes: http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productList&Ne=5000&category=Ice+Makers&N=0+1000055I didn't look through all the listings but maybe they have one that does flakes?-- Dave[Edited on March 21, 2007 at 6:15 PM. ^ yea that is about the right size.... its just all solid ice...my mom loves flaked ice and we had a machine but it went out a few years ago and she is one of those moms who never is willing to spend any of her money on herself just on us. So I really want to find 1 but thanks for the help so far I appreciate it.
