have you tried booting from a linux cd or flash drive to see if you can get into it?or updating the drivers and bios maybe?or praying to ancient, forbidden gods, beseeching their awesome might?
3/22/2007 7:29:11 AM
when you say it won't recognize the new drive, did you remove the old drive altogether and then put in the new drive?and did you try system restore as [BigMan157[/user] suggested? or just Windows repair?
3/22/2007 8:38:29 AM
^^ didn't have any around didn't even think about the flash idea, but they both would have worked.^ nah, left the old in. the original plan was to copy what i needed over to the other, not install anything on the blank. also, did botht he repair and the system restore.what i wound up doing was just booting from the xp cd and installing it on the blank HD so i could boot into an uncorrupted os that'd recognize more than one drive Got everything copied. now just formatting the old drive so i can get everything back in working order[Edited on March 22, 2007 at 3:38 PM.
