so i had my computer on while i was watching tv today and as i glance over at my computer, the whole screen has turned white. i have a compaq laptop and i also have a 2nd monitor hooked up to the computer. the 2nd monitor is a dell and was working fine, i had a webpage displayed on it and it was normal but the main laptop screen was completely white. i turned the computer off and back on and it was still white, i took the battery out and let it sit for a while, but nothing has helped. has anyone heard of this before or know of something i could try? the computer is still working because i can dim and brighten the screen and put it in sleep mode, etc. any help is appreciated.

I'm assuming you use an extended desktop normally? Could you still move the mouse into the extended area where your laptop desktop would usually be?

If you haven't already try rebooting without the 2nd monitor plugged in and troubleshooting it like that. Sounds alot like the display just bit the dust.

yeah i could still move the mouse into the extended desktop, i am now using my extra monitor as my main desktop so i'm assuming there is something internally wrong with the main laptop display.
