3/20/2007 10:48:40 AM
what this mess that i am hearing about his brand new truck and him not going to anymore classes?
3/20/2007 10:55:03 AM
i dont know but hes clearly and upstanding young manshame on anyone who may have called him a mean name
3/20/2007 11:04:46 AM
^^ I remember at the end of Koren's soph season, before the bowl game, he was driving his pimped out Escalade on campus. It was pretty clear he wasn't coming back by that point.. gotta love the car dealerships who know they'll get the return if they practically give away a car.. probably the same thing.
3/20/2007 11:06:21 AM
I'm sure they've worked out a legal (and NCAA conforming) system for Lawson to make payments until he goes pro, something like $.50 a month most likely. I remember Jamison driving around his pimped out Pathfinder at the end of his sophomore season (he actually played his junior) while his dad was a jnaiotr in Mecklenberg county.

Ty, we'd like to thank you for not going to class in weeks (as I have been told by friends) and driving a pimp new truck. Happy trails playing for UNC-South next year
3/21/2007 8:53:57 AM
^dude, a bunch of NC State players don't go to class in weeks too. I know because I'm in class with them. For some reason, I don't think they are turning pro, and I'm not surprised if they pass the class at the end of the year. Gotta love student-athletes, huh?
3/21/2007 9:29:34 AM
^^ Entire teams across the country have been missing classes over the past few weeks. I hope you can figure out why....
3/21/2007 9:57:26 AM
It would be a nice surprise if we only had to worry about Kelsey Grammer next year at the point.
3/21/2007 10:00:47 AM
I skipped weeks of class while I was in school at times.
3/21/2007 10:11:26 AM
^^you forgot Quentin Thomas.
3/21/2007 10:17:45 AM
let me clarifythe talk among the media at the ACC tournament was that lawson has not gone to class since jan. and that he would not be back. just to clear up any confusion take it for what you want[Edited on March 21, 2007 at 10:23 AM. Reason : 1]
3/21/2007 10:23:21 AM
Do they have any other recruits coming in that could take his spot.....
3/21/2007 10:55:25 AM
I don't think they got nobody coming in at all next yearno schollys
3/21/2007 10:58:02 AM
^^no, but I'm not sure he's turning pro this year. According to this article, he's only turning pro if he's guaranteed top-5, which is unlikely to happen. http://www.charlotte.com/129/story/58166.html[Edited on March 21, 2007 at 10:59 AM. Reason : .]

strep throat, eh terry?wonder how he got that?
3/21/2007 11:09:18 AM
^^ great article, Lawson said he isn't ready to hang out with 30 year old men and pay bills. Well well well, Lawson isn't ready to pay bills, how'd ya get the truck??? Riiiiight
3/21/2007 11:20:47 AM
Personally, I would love for all players to stay 4 years. It would be great for college basketball. I don't really care about the NBA anyway.
3/21/2007 11:53:39 AM
^Do you think you would care more about the NBA if college players usually DID stay 4 years? In other words, you will be more familiar with more college players for staying longer...and getting better...and going to the NBA...so you'd be more familiar with NBA players
3/21/2007 11:54:56 AM
^ i probably would.
3/21/2007 11:56:50 AM
no, once they go pro they lose all ability to defend and fuck em, they're making millions!
3/21/2007 11:59:20 AM
I'm thinking/hoping that the NBA will slowly grow on people thanks to the rule they set up a couple years ago about no high schoolers straight to the league...as an NBA fan I love watching people like Lebron play...as a college fan I don't want to see my favorite players go pro early...as a basketball fan, both products would be better in the end with players staying 4 years[Edited on March 21, 2007 at 12:00 PM. Reason : ^lawls]
3/21/2007 12:00:17 PM
maybe they'll change it this year and force hickson to stay an extra 3. that'd be hot
3/21/2007 12:02:03 PM
I would definitely care more about the NBA because the players played at my college. For example, I watch the Nuggets game just to see Julius Hodge.
3/21/2007 12:02:42 PM
hopefully Sid's recruiting will end up sending more and more players to the league which inherently should also spark interest
3/21/2007 12:03:16 PM
3/21/2007 12:10:01 PM
At a Super Bowl party one of UNC's team managers was telling me that Wright is gone for sure (duh), Hansborough is undecided, and Ty Lawson wanted to go BADLY and that it was a running joke on the team about whether he'd get drafted or not.
3/21/2007 3:45:55 PM
^ gooooooood, gooooooooood.

I can't believe that he had to go back and edit the word "nigga".That is getting WAY to extreme. Pretty soon we are going to see sentences like this:I can't believe that she called me a ***s*. That is just ****ing uncalled for. That makes for intriguing reading doesn't it???
