I am riding a Honda shadow and am thinking about getting rid of it. I would like to find some other bikes to test ride, but most shops wont let you. Does anyone have a beater sport bike that runs pretty well and would be willing to let me test ride it? I have been looking at bikes such as the Honda 599, Yamaha FZ6, etc.

sure thing. I am mainly concerned about the riding posture, as I spent a lot of time on my bike at the moment.

about bikes 600rr's are the most uncomfortable next to r6's and im fine on mine.[Edited on March 15, 2007 at 1:42 PM. Reason : d]

take a look at f4i's, they're about the most comfortable sport bike i've been on for longer rides. nothing is going to be anywhere close to your shadow though.[Edited on March 15, 2007 at 2:09 PM. Reason : .]

honda 599 and fz6 should be comfy as well

Yea, the shadow is not comfortable for me at all on long rides though. Its the vt600, and I feel really cramped-up on it. Its a good bike for someone who is not 6 feet tall. I have sat on some of the bigger ones, which seem to spread you out more.

my r1 is surprisingly comfy for a superbike. much more comfortable than any of the 600's these fools^ have. altough wind protection does not work as intended.[Edited on March 15, 2007 at 5:04 PM. Reason : they all have 600 supersports tho, im sure 599/fz will be totally different]
3/15/2007 5:03:41 PM
r1's are lazy boys
3/15/2007 5:11:40 PM
the 599 is real comfy but dont have much for ballz

3/15/2007 5:21:49 PM
superhawk is less comfortable than the r1 imo. also feels taller. never rode sv1000 but 650's are fairly comfy
3/15/2007 5:21:50 PM
oh wow. haha teh hawk wasnt comfy with the low clip-ons and factoryish located rear set (even tho im 5'6")

3/15/2007 5:34:18 PM
SILENCE with that corbin that hawk was mighty comfy and im too tall for it!
3/15/2007 5:37:34 PM

3/15/2007 5:47:02 PM
you won't like it, but you can't hurt my 600rr right now, so you're welcome to come have a ride on it.
3/15/2007 9:35:56 PM
^u didnt fix that thing yet?
3/15/2007 9:54:23 PM
if you want comfort, look at a honda vfr750f or 800those things are way easy to ride for daysgreat low end too
3/15/2007 10:14:20 PM
true that, viffers are comfortable. torque monsters also.
3/15/2007 10:18:19 PM
i've gone 3-4 hrs of constant riding on my superhawk. It's something i'd hate to do on a daily basis. It's alittle more upright position than most sportbikes. I'd still like to get a corbin and helibars for it though.

kyle-It's ridable and road legal, just not too pretty since I havn't had time to do any bodywork.I've been riding it w/out fairings for a couple weeks now. I even took it to asheville over break with the headlights zip-tied to it
