Like the title says, I have a 2 year old Female Anery 66% het albino boa I am looking to sell. She is very friendly and has never struck at anything but rats period. She is approx. 5.5' in length and feeds on one large rat every ~9 days give or take. Never had a single health problem and I know at least a few people on here have seen/held her in person. "Paerabol" was an old roomie of mine and he knows how cool of a snake this is. I bought her from Brad up at Picasso Reptiles in north Raleigh for 400 bucks, so any reasonable offers will be considered. I'm selling her because I'm looking to downsize to a ball python, so if you have one that has a very good personality, I might be interested in trading + cash. I can include a (now much too small) cage for her as well for some extra $, but I was hoping to keep it for a different snake. If I weren't moving around a ton in the next few years I would be keeping her, but lugging an eventually 8' boa around along with a 4'x2' 80lb cage will be a bit of a hassle. I know someone on here is looking for a boa!Feel free to hit me up on AIM with any questions: "MartialArtsGuy3"-Steve

i need to play with mine more he's mean to me now lolalso if u keep feedings at the right schedule there is no reason why your boa cant stay a relatively small size. mine is ~4 feet. also balls suck and are too common/still get relatively big.hell my other one is 3 feet and 5 years old or so. the prev. people never really fed it tho. although it's still healthy! just tiny.[Edited on March 14, 2007 at 11:06 PM. ^^^THANK YOU.be nice to snakes

what kind of food would she need full grown?
3/18/2007 9:25:30 PM
She would be eating jumbo rats or fetal piglets depending on how often you want to feed her. This wouldn't be for at least a couple more years though, she will do just fine on large rats for at least another year. 9' boas can easily get as big around as your thigh and are very strong animals. You usually size food to be approximately the same size in diameter as the snake.-Steve

can u please post pics. i want to convince my roommate to get this
3/18/2007 10:54:11 PM
^---baby picture to prove she is in fact anery.^---most recent feeding pic. If she looks a little thin, she really isn't it's the angle of the camera. She's been down for the winter getting 1 large rat per month so her feeding schedule was slowed down, but she's back up to 1 large/9 days.If you have any questions or need more pictures, PLEASE PM ME. I have ungodly amounts of pictures of almost all her feedings for the first year and about half from the second year. (I got lazy). She's an awesome snake and I would love to see her in a good home.-Steve[Edited on March 18, 2007 at 11:11 PM. Reason : bad links]

live food or frozen? also any kind of vet checkup or health information?
3/18/2007 11:32:18 PM
She was a captive born/bred boa, she hasn't been to the vet since she has never EVER had a respiratory infection/gut impaction or anything at all period. I don't have any vet records because of this, but she was born/bred as stated above from Brad at Picasso Reptiles in north Raleigh. She hasn't had a single problem ever, not even so much as refused a SINGLE rat ever. She has never struck at anyone ever, and even when she is PMS'ing when she's in shed she will ONLY hiss a little at you when you first reach into the cage and touch her. She chills out immediately afterwards and you can handle her w/o fear of anything regardless of her 'time of the month'. She is a fantastic snake, I hate to see her go, but I just don't have the room/resources to utilize her anymore. She will make someone a very happy owner, she is great around everyone. She eats live-stunned large rats, but I know for a fact that she has eaten at least 2-3 frozen-thawed rats before without any problem, so you can choose whether you want to feed her frozen-thawed or live food.-Steve[Edited on March 19, 2007 at 12:13 AM. 3/19/2007 9:19:01 PM
Boa is still for sale.

The highest bid right now is $200 for the snake only, however the person is going to need a little time to put the money together. Keeping this alive.-Steve

I have a perfect tank for her if anyone wants to buy it.Its my iguanas old tank and in perfect condition.Comes with screen top.4 ft long x 2.5 (maybe 3) ft tall x 2 ft wideI paid $250 for it. Will accept $100Was keeping it in case i got the urge to get anything big but one big lizard is enough (in addition to the dragons, uro, and geckos)
3/20/2007 2:38:20 PM
^---assuming that the sides of the cage are actually about 3/4" thick plywood you would be ok once you replaced the screen top. A 3/4" thick sheet of Melamine from Home Depot costs $26 dollars for a 4'x8' sheet. I was going to make a new cage out of this but decided to find her a new home. Thanks for the assistance.-Steve

Thats a cool snake, but the feeding pic creeps me the fuck out.Is there any law about how big of a snake you can keep in your home?
3/20/2007 11:54:08 PM
I take her out of her cage to feed, I don't just let her roam freely. As far as I'm aware there are no laws regarding large snakes that you can keep in your home, though I think they are trying to pass legislation for the bigger retics and burms.-Steve
3/21/2007 10:34:57 AM
is it bad idea to let her roam free? I think it would be pretty damn cool to have people over and there be a 9ft boa slithering into the room.not that i would do that. unless i wanted to scare the shit out of someone. and id put her in the cage at night.[Edited on March 21, 2007 at 11:29 AM. 3/21/2007 11:28:38 AM
It would not be a wise idea to let a 9' boa or any snake for that matter free-roam in your house.[Edited on March 21, 2007 at 3:43 PM. Reason : .]
