anybody who thinks this is legit is completely wrongi suppose sidney's 10th place finish in his first year is going to take him right back to the league that he coached in the last 10 years?[Edited on March 14, 2007 at 10:29 AM. Reason : .]
3/14/2007 10:28:58 AM
haha alright thenbut yeah, im hopin he wouldn't do that to us (sid).^the offers are legit, or do you mean the possibility he would leave being legit?[Edited on March 14, 2007 at 10:29 AM. Reason : ]

3/14/2007 10:32:47 AM
there were never any legit rumors there about cowher. just random posts from people "in the know"
3/14/2007 10:38:10 AM
i dont have premium packpride content...but i do know how unfounded rumors can quickly perpetuate on the internet...i just dont see how lowe would coach 10 years in the nba (head or assistant)...come back to rebuild his alma mater...and leave after a year to go back to the nba where its more about the players than the coaches anyway
3/14/2007 10:40:14 AM
3/14/2007 10:43:25 AM
nobody said he was leaving. all that was said is that efforts were being made by NBA teams.i'm not posting any of their premie content b/c i don't want to get banned, but i will say it's from a reliable source and not just any random person that wants attention.
3/14/2007 10:44:56 AM
Personally I wish Sid would tell you-know-who that works for you-know-what organization to go eff himself
3/14/2007 10:45:53 AM
i think this is his dream job, and he wouldnt leave
3/14/2007 10:47:27 AM
Ok. I like Sidney and I think he'll be awesome here.. but what NBA team would THINK about hiring him? It's not like we lit the world on fire this year. We ARE in the Not-Invited-Tournament and we were 10th place in the conference out of 12. That coupled with his less than overwhelming tenure as the Grizzlies head coach (and yes I realize John Wooden couldn't have made that team a winner) and I'm not sure what a NBA organization would see in him at this point..It's Isiah isn't it? That bastard.. Maybe he'll trade his first round picks for the next 11 years to the Pack for Sid? That sounds like a good deal to him..[Edited on March 14, 2007 at 10:48 AM. Reason : x]

The key is here, is we must PAY FOR PERFORMANCE.Sidney has taken us from the bottom and back to the top, in one season, with freshmen. His performance has been phenomenal. His pay should be approaching phenomenal. Pay him for his performance.
3/14/2007 11:12:01 AM
one season does not make a coach worthy of a great contract

he makes less than prosser, hewitt, leitao, etc.do you not think he at least deserves to be paid on that level? i think he has outcoached the best coaches in the ACC multiple times. it just came down to who had the most players in the end of a few of the games.obviously i can't comment on the things coaches say to their teams at halftime, or even in the huddle, but from what i CAN see i think lowe is as good or better than any of the coaches in the league.coach k is the only one out of the bunch that i would be reluctant to say that about, but only because of the success he has had. if you watch them both on the sidelines it seems like sidney has a lot more control over the flow of the game in the way he communicates instructions to the players at all times.during the acc tournament he would sometimes watch the opposing PG call their play and then signal what defense our guys should play.he will have us at the top of the acc very soon as long as he stays here, and i really don't see him leaving.

im talking about actually watching him coach on the sidelines.seriously, watch the man on the sidelines.he hasn't proven anything? really? he has NBA teams wanting him to be their HEAD coach. he has BEEN an NBA HEAD coach. i think that proves a lot right there.[Edited on March 14, 2007 at 11:34 AM. 3/14/2007 11:33:12 AM
so as long as coach does stuff on the sidelines, he should get paid more?
3/14/2007 11:33:59 AM
wtf does that meani agree he's probably a better coach than prosser, who doesn't seem to do shit for his teamhewitt is a great recruiter, don't know about anything beyond thatand the jury's still out on leitaohoweverthese guys have resultsand results, not cool suits, get you paidsidney doesn't get paid until he gets results--
3/14/2007 12:35:04 PM
^you can't say he was a horrible nba head coach when you look at who he was coaching...pleaseI remember in a PP interview with Fowler he mentioned that people in the know with the NBA said Sid was probably coming up next in line for getting a GOOD nba head coaching offer finally...he had paid his dues being put in bad situations[Edited on March 14, 2007 at 12:46 PM. 3/14/2007 12:45:13 PM
thats like saying bickerstaff is a bad coach because he got an expansion team too (sid coached the wolves pre-garnett)not recalling that bickerstaff was nba coach of the year in like 87
3/14/2007 12:46:25 PM
He's not going to the NBA after one year at State. Give it a rest.
3/14/2007 12:46:29 PM
we hired someone who has nba coaching experience...he's gonna get calls, he'll get offerswe just need to believe at this point that he bleeds wolfpack red like it seems he does and throw him a little more money...not saying he should be paid like K or Roy yet, but get him up there a little more
3/14/2007 12:47:54 PM
it is easy to spot a great coach when you see him work. immediate results aren't a prerequisite to being a good coach. but i actually disagree with those of you who don't think he has gotten us any results yet. just look at the acc tournament alone. he has gotten all kinds of national attention for it. he is getting all kinds of praise from the media for his coaching performance.and, completely unrelated to his coaching ability and what he should be paid, the red jacket is all over the national sports world. it's getting mentioned all over the place. that is incredibly good for recruiting. if any recruits didn't already know who sidney lowe was, you can bet they do now. again, this doesn't have anything at all to do with his ability to coach, but it's something that the media loves to talk about and the media hasn't loved to talk about state basketball since the 83 run.yes, sendek led the team to the ACC tourney title game in his first year too. however, i think there is already a clear difference between sidney and herb. for one, i definitely think sidney has the players' respect more than herb did. sidney motivates them incredibly well, and he never seems to get flustered. he has kept cool and engaged in the game every time we have played. he works the refs, and he makes big adjustments when they are needed. he doesn't hesitate to take a timeout when things run away from us, and he listens to players' suggestions. more importantly, lowe has breathed new life into wolfpack basketball. you know it's true when you can say that while we are playing in the NIT after 5 straight years in the NCAA, our fans are excited.the future is bright with sidney. go ahead and disagree if you want, but i'm confident that he will be proven to be a great coach sooner rather than later. look for him to be ACC COY within the next 2 seasons, and i bet we are back competing for 1st in the ACC within 3-5. we'll definitely be back in the top half of the ACC and make the NCAA next year at the very least.it's time to believe.[Edited on March 14, 2007 at 12:51 PM.
