This has been gone over in the past, but after the recent 'coverage' of the stuff posted on this board by numerous media outlets, I am going to post it again...

Racist comments/threads are not creative. They add nothing to the discussion of sports talk. They insult your intelligence, your student body, and your school. If you feel you want to have a political discussion, then you can take it to the Soap Box. It is my goal to allow this board to be an unmoderated as possible, but within the confines that the lack of constant moderation doesnt foster the type of negative attention that we have recently received.

From this point on, any hint of racism within Sports Talk will result in a suspension. Since I dont have the power to terminate, lets just say the suspension will last a long time, and your access probably wont be restored by me. I'm going to bttt this for a few days. Feel free to leave your comments, but unless someone above me says differently, I am not going to be changing my feelings.

I admit to not following the game thread during the game. I was (believe it or not) watching the game and not by a computer. I generally dont go back and look through a 10+ page thread to find stuff. I am pretty sure my comod took care of most of the offenders.

first of all, I am here a lot. I do not lock threads. I delete them. Therefore, its rare to actually see the evidence of my work. Second, I had not gone deep in the game thread to see how bad some of the comments were. And third, since this has caused such a stink, its best we are all on the same page for the next time. I really dont care if you think this is late, but it needs to be stated one way or the other.

We know its around. It doesnt mean we have to open the door and let it in. The internet tends to bring it more to the surface, since people can type stuff on a keyboard that they know would cause them to get seriously hurt if they said it in public. Most of us have subscribed to that fate at some point online, but then most of us grow out of it.

Actually, it wasnt sports talk, it was whatever show they have on in the morning. there is a sports component to it. The only reason I had it on was because I was listening to the game in the car, and hadnt change the station. I happened to turn it on when they were going to discuss 'message board' postings following the state loss.
