ok, we lost the tourney. I know that, and lets get that out of the way.

But wasnt it great to see us battle adversity from Thursday on?

we shouldnt have beat the highly acclaimed Duke University, no way we could handle Virginia's two point guards after they man-handled us twice this season,no team beats another three times in one season, so VA Tech was bound to teach us a lesson, and the Heels were just too good for us to even compete.

all of this was said over and over, yet the Pack prevailed over and over again until the waining moments of the Championship game.

The Pack is back, and this marks a turning point for our University, like it or not.

No, this isnt going to be another Herb era, but even when he has a run like this in 1997, if you are a real fan (or old like me) you remember how that 97 run was awesome to be a part of, and how rejuvinating it was to see that we could compete.

I am looking foward to the next few years, as I think this is the start of something really, really good.

Thanks for a weekend I won't soon forget, North Carolina State Wolfpack! You are the best!

i see what you're saying, but coaches have had success here before. we were optimistic about herb back in the day, that didn't work out. now we have every reason to be optimistic about lowe (seemingly excellent at coaching x and o's and recruiting). just b/c our last coach underperformed and peaced out on us doesn't mean lowe will too.

and with that said, i love sidney lowe.

Herb was a good coach and a great recruiter. Herb was well-liked as a person (if not flashy enough for some people). However, Herb didn't get it. No matter how far the comparison goes between Herb's early and late success with NC State and the path of Sidney Lowe's tenure as coach, the fact is that Sidney gets what Herb never got, and around here, that's worth a ton.

^ right on. i doubt we would've been nearly as hard on lowe if he had the same results as sendek. here's to hoping we don't have to prove me wrong.

And as far as the Herb discussion is concerned, I think the debate about who is better is inconsequential. The fact is that Sidney is an inside guy from State who, like vinyl said, understands what is at stake, and he can use that to his advantage to pump up the players. If anyone thinks Herb could have taken these guys to the ACCT Championship, I'd love to hear the reasoning--Sidney and our boys made it as far as they did because Sidney is living proof that it isn't over til the buzzer sounds, and that no matter what, anything can happen as long as you BELIEVE.

Yes, it's wonderful that Sid has a great grasp of the game, 20 years of NBA coaching experience, and is a likeable flashy guy who has already proven his recruiting prowess--but don't forget about the intagibles of him not only once being a Wolfpack player, but being part of the most magical experience in sports history (in my extremely biased opinion).

The Pack is indeed back. Give credit to our boys for believing in themselves, but also be excited that Sidney is here and will never shy away from the challenges put in front of him, no matter the odds.

In short, he DONT GIVE UP

he DONT EVER GIVE UP
