I am trying to find out specific salary information for positions within specific companies and locations. I know you can find surveys of stuff like that on vault but you have to pay for it. Does anyone know where I can get this info for free?

Hrm... where to start...You want the salary range for a position. Most companies do not disclose their compensation system to the public, they only do so to survey firms. Most surveys only give aggregate industry information on compensation (like Radford Survey for tech industry). The stuff on vault.com isn't exactly reliable I think (I don't use vault so I'm speculating here). I think vault actually get some of the salary info from the employees, now that's troublesome for your purposes because their pay is dependent on skills, experience, competencies, achievements, etc.

Thanks for the help guys but I just found a site http://www.payscale.com It gives me the salary for specific companies. These are the averages. I am looking at commission based work. Are the salaries just the base salary or has the commission already been figured into it? This is one of the companies I am looking into right now: http://www.payscale.com/research/US/Employer=Reynolds_%26_Reynolds_Co/Salary

Payscale is a pretty good site. Just found out about it a few weeks ago, it would have been handy when searching for my first job.
