My fav DJ... any thoughts?
3/9/2007 2:03:53 AM
What about him? He's been my favorite trance DJ for a number of years, although Gabriel & Dresden are closing up the #2 spot with their essential mix releases.
3/9/2007 2:25:17 AM
what's your fav album? I like Magic 3 and 5
3/9/2007 2:28:09 AM
yeah i would say he is my favorite, probably along with PVD.saw tiesto in turkey (summer 2006) during his In Search of Sunrise 5 tour.PVD's Politics of Dancin 2 is great.
3/9/2007 6:00:22 AM
i know he's good and all, but most of the stuff i have from him is just kinda meh.
3/9/2007 8:39:18 AM
Studio stuff from DJs is never that good. I suggest that you find some live sets from Paul Van Dyk, Tiesto, and Van Burren. The live stuff is 100 times better than anything recorded in the studio. Just search for them and look for the largest files, usually over 100mbs.
3/9/2007 3:16:20 PM
tiesto = cheese
3/9/2007 3:17:51 PM
most of what i have of his is live. its alright, but he's definately not my favorite.
3/9/2007 3:36:17 PM
Try some Van Dyk or Van Burren
3/9/2007 3:51:33 PM
god damn tiesto and pvd live sets are the bomb.definitely 100 times better as he said.when you hear the crowd roaring, it feels like you are there.
3/9/2007 3:57:40 PM
been listening to electronic music since highschool, ill be alright on the suggestions eh. shit varies real heavily on quality is the problem. like 7 ways is a great album, but yeah crowd noise always is nice. prefer psy and goa trance anyways.[Edited on March 9, 2007 at 6:36 PM. Reason : .]

Here is a great site for some live trance sets.....http://www.tranceaddict.com/livesets.shtmlAll the sets on here are badass, but I recommend starting out with these, you shouldn't be dissapointed.Paul van Dyk - Live at Energy 2003 (08-10-03) Paul van Dyk - 15 Jahre Maximal @ Club U60311 (05-13-05)DJ Tiesto - Live at Club Space (08-18-02)Chicane - Live from Palladium (01-22-00) - Prolly my all time favorite live set, its really laid back and chill. Really starts kicking around the 11min mark[Edited on March 9, 2007 at 8:34 PM. Reason : .]

3/10/2007 3:18:01 AM
YOU WILL NEVER DEFEAT SASHA & DIGWEED
3/10/2007 4:19:23 AM
^this guy is right. and i have irrefutable evidence to prove what he says is right.
3/10/2007 4:26:03 AM

3/10/2007 4:36:04 AM
Meh, I haven't listened to any of this stuff since high school (other than the cover of "Enjoy the Silence" from Expeditions). I do remember that Dave Seaman was boring as shit, though. ]
3/10/2007 4:47:30 AM
yeah ive never really heard anything from seaman that got me going. ive got a ton more albums than live sets because there simply wasnt enough bandwith when i was really into trance. out of the albums i have though, i rather like GU: Digweed in Sidney, Sasha and Digweed: Exposure, one of the Christopher Lawrence ones I forget, PVD: 7 Ways, Tranceport, and the like. it is all older stuff, but its good.out of the shows ive been to (which admittedly havent been that many, maybe 5-6) i'd say D:Fuse and Bad Boy Bill had the best sets.i dl'd the chicane set. it isnt a bad set, but nothing really jumps out at me, kinda like a lot of the albums i have. 3/10/2007 11:39:31 AM
I've got over 10gigs of just live sets.
3/10/2007 11:41:28 AM
i guess im song picky, i hate not being able to easily skip crappy parts.
3/10/2007 1:03:07 PM
How is it hard? All you gotta do is ff through them, its not that hard to do on a comp.
3/10/2007 4:20:42 PM
3/10/2007 4:33:01 PM
3/10/2007 6:37:06 PM
im generally not sitting on my computer for hours on end and thus dont need live sets. when im in the car or using a portable player, it is a pain to fastforward. thats why eh.
3/10/2007 8:11:49 PM
damn this is a great set:Cor Fijneman - Danceroom Live (02-15-03) (from that link above: http://www.tranceaddict.com/livesets.shtml)from beginning to end, it is rocking, definitely one of the best sets i have ever heard. and this is first time i have heard of Cor Fijneman... anybody else know of him? does he have other good stuff?the second song in it (Tears from the moon) gives me goose bumps all over.and Gareth Emery, aka GTR is a great trance DJ also. his set also on that link is very good, and i have another set of his that's amazing. one of the top 5 DJs for sure, along with Tiesto, PVD, and Blank and Jones.yo TheOffice, i knew of that tranceaddict.com site. any other sites with similar live sets that you know of?

DJ's... depends on your music taste when it comes to techno. House and Jungle you should try DJ Dara, or Scooter. Tiesto is eh... in my mind. It's bland. not that it's all bad, he's got good stuff but it's usually the same. If you like epic trance that's easy. DJ Doboy, DJ GT, DJ Encore, Sunscream and Push, BT( who is also jungle), and DJ Mystik (remakes songs). Oh and I can't forget Astral Projection. They are INSANE. Oakenfold is way too mainstream for my tastes. It's not what it used to be. If you're a happy hardcore that's groups like "Reset" and uh... "Hanna".I can give you most of what I suggested since they distribute freely. Aka it's legal to share and how I base a lot of my music choices. Keep checking http://www.raige.net. I'm almost done with my music section where I can post all the legal mp3's I have. Several DJ's I know locally and have met sent me music I can share. I'm on a lot of sample lists to give opinions on concepts they do. Dj FaNToM is one them. He's pretty fucking good.

BECAUSE MUSIC = MATH, LOGIC, etcpeople are free to like what they want. i have 2 cds by scooter too, and a third to half the stuff on each cd i like a lot. SO?^^ Push is great too. his (or their) 2 best songs have been unviersal hits:universal nationstrange worldand those are probably in the top 10 best single i have ever heard.i am not too familiar with the others you mentioned, except astral projection (great), BT (ok for me), and oakenfold (ok to good, with some stuff great).thanks for your website. i will be sure to check it regularly.

hey guys what about FERRY CORSTEN? (aka System F aka Gouryella) forgot to mention him in my list as one of the best DJs.haven't heard any new stuff from him in a looooooooooong time. is the dude still producing stuff, and performing to live audiences?Darren Tate is another good one.Others:Randy KatanaThrillseekersNu-NrgMatt DareyJudge JulesJohn "00" FlemmingInfected Mushroom (Psy-trance) (The Messenger by them is the probably the best track ever in any genre, for me)DJ Tatana (i have only one track, and it is very good)ChicaneBlank & JonesArt of TranceAbove & BeyondE Nomine (i don't know how to describe this... German dark gothic vocal slow techno? it is GREAT) (good tracks: Exitus, Mitternacht, Vater Unser)oh snap, just looked up E Nomine on wiki, and what i said closely resembles how it is described there:
4/2/2007 5:34:36 PM
im glad we can all agree that (good) psy and goa tear all other forms of music to shreds. as for the messenger, you'll have to send me that. ive got a bunch of their songs but not that one. bust a move is the one i cant get enough of.
