I listened to 850 pretty much all the time for the last 10+ years and it took a while to get used to AG, then he was tolerable, then when 1090/1490 came and I started listening to the PackMan show I found out how much of a true dumbass AG is and I haven't listened to him at all since. I only listen to 850 for Imus and Rome. Then at 3 I switch over to 620 for the PackMan show.

I thought when we beat Wake we were guaranteed at least the qualifying RECORD (.500 or better) to be in the NIT...now getting an invitation is another story, but if 7 teams from the ACC go to the NCAA tourney, you best believe the other 5 will get NIT bids...even Wake

Also the Packman show is ok even though Mark Packer is definitely becoming as hard-headed as his old man

well i'm not positive about it

but i do recall, during the wake game, the announcers said something to the effect of "with a win here, NC State will secure an NIT bid" or something like that

maybe the announcers were off...but I still think we will go to the NITs...we have some quality wins (UNC, VT, VT)...course beating Duke would make it a lock...course beating Duke, Virginia, G/V Tech and UNC/UMD would make it irrelevant!

NCAA Tourney:
- Duke
- NC State
- UNC
- Boston College

NIT Tourney:
- Maryland
- Miami
- Clemson
- Wake
- Florida State

No Tourney
- Virginia
- Virginia Tech
- Georgia Tech

UVA, VT, GT all had sub-.500 records

So I guess this year if we got 7 in the NCAA tourney we would get 3 in the NIT since Wake and Miami are below .500...unless Wake gets a few ACC tourney wins

well if you look at last year's NIT field, there were such powerhouses as Fairly-Dickinson, Northern Arizona and Georgia Southern...I'd say we are going to the NIT (if we dont win the ACC)

that's because they have 8 in the ncaa. there is a huge drop of between the top 9 and ncsu/miam/wake. They had us on the bubble before the maryland game fwiw

also just because nobody can find a printed link doesnt mean something has or hasnt happened...I've heard plenty of stuff on sports radio on the way back to work and looked for a print article online to post a thread and havent found it so who knows

You do NOT have to be above .500 anymore to make the NIT. People in this thread keep bringing that up, but they changed the rules last year. This fact has been stated over and over in many other threads arguing about our chances to make the NIT.
