Which one would you recommend and, if any, are ones that you dont have to do, or do a lot of, presentations, speaches, etc.-COM 110-COM 112-COM 146-COM 211::Even though COM 146 shows up on my plan of work as an acceptable class it looks like it doesn't exist any more. Also i'm trying to take the easiest one, I dont want to learn or expand my knowledge, atleast for this group of classes.[Edited on March 2, 2007 at 12:00 PM. Reason : 146]

Drop out of college now if you're worried about the workload from a 100-level COM class.

i mean, i wouldnt take the course if i didnt have to for my major. im doing statistics, not communications. but SINCE i have to take one, why not take the easiest one? idk why anyone would take the hardest one either.

com112 is easy as shit...crumps good

you know, as a stats major, it might be helpful if you can communicate with other people. seriously. if your interpersonal skills = shit, then i recommend 112. if you find that people tend to avoid you at parties and social events -- or if you find that "non-stats majors just don't get me!!" -- then take 110. if you have any inclination of doing something other than working in a cubicle for the rest of your life, take 211.even if you consider your deviation standard (HAHA -- stats jokes are FUNNAY), take 110, 112, and 211

COM 112 is the biggest joke and waste of time ever. You learn nothing useful. I'd take public speaking, at least you might learn something useful. Of course anything in the humanities at State is typically a joke anyway.

^Get into some of the non-technical stuff in your field, work with a multi-disciplinary team, or start writing grants if you want to see the benefit of CHASS skills. (NC State may not have an especially strong program, but it does well overall).Otherwise, why do you say COM112 is bad?[Edited on March 7, 2007 at 7:26 PM. Reason : .]

the Com 112 course I took basically consisted of watching movies and reviewing psychology terms. If you take ENG 333 you cover all the grant/technical writing stuff (which I had already learned from science classes)

112 is totally dependent on the teacher. Ours made it awfully hard for a 100 level and ridiculous assignments and tests compared to other sections of 112 in the same semester.I took this and at the same time my ex-gf had 112 with Croasmun.I studied forever for my test and took it, failed with ~50% or some lousy number. Took her test and got a 98.Be careful and make sure to read reviews on the teachers and just dont get Mercer.
