even if uva finishes the regular season in first all they get is the 1-seed in the tournament. no guarantee with that.

the #1 seed hasn't tasted too much success recently. duke last year and maybe '00.

Both UVA and VT have some mystifying losses. But if you look through their conference records, it looks to me like VT played a tougher schedule and has more quality wins to show for it.

duke has depth. it wasn't depth that lost alot of those games it was conservativeness. i was wrong but you were wrong to because nobody could have predicted duke would lose games from having big leads and sitting on them while missing fts down the stretch.

people were saying clemson was just like last year but they were really good and should have been a tourney team but this year the acc is just too brutal.

It really doesn't matter who has the tiebreaker. the top half of the bracket will be just as tough as or tougher than the 2/3 side because maryland will be 4 or 5 and they are the best team right now

Do you not get it? Duke is an extremely talented team 1-5 (i don't count mcclure in that but rather henderson if he isn't starting). Maybe the most talented in the ACC. However, they can't maintain through 40 minutes. Yeah, it seems like they sit on the leads but it's because they know they can't play at that level against more athletic and deeper teams for a full 40.

Anyway, I'm done with this for now... and I agree with you that Maryland is definitely the best team in the ACC RIGHT NOW. They are my tourney pick and I can see them being an Elite 8 team..

** Clemson WAS just like last year. They got killed by the ACC and clearly weren't a Top 25 team. They lived off their early season. I'm not saying their horrid but just not a tourney team once again..

i rather play uva/vt/vc on saturday than play maryland which means i rather have the 2 or 3 seed than 1 seed.
