it helps us reduce bandwidth and storage space. it should make it a little quicker for you guys to view photos. the max size I have set is 800x600.do you like it? not like it?
5/3/2002 2:14:13 PM
That's plenty big enough for images to be posted in a thread. I like the idea, not only for quicker loading, but it really messes up the page when a 1600 x 1200 image is posted.
5/3/2002 2:27:45 PM
I DO NOT LIKE IT
5/3/2002 4:19:05 PM
i'm all for it
5/3/2002 4:27:59 PM
hmm... I am all for it, as long as it resizes too big of a picture and still keeps its aspect ratio. Most of us can always host our big pics in our unity accounts anyway.
5/3/2002 4:53:17 PM
What about the picks in the hottest girl you ever seen thread But I'm for it. I don't like scrolling sideways.
5/3/2002 5:04:50 PM
ohhhh shit, forgot about pr0n. Can't you use that intelligent software that can detect porn images and leave those pics alone, please?
5/3/2002 5:08:11 PM
yeah, it resizes the pix while maintaining aspect ratio
5/3/2002 5:35:37 PM
excellent! I have to say, this board has to be the best. Why aren't you more aggressively marketing it on ZDNet or anything like that?
5/3/2002 5:37:32 PM
yes i really like that idea.
5/3/2002 11:02:02 PM
what about pics we already have in our photo galary---like with the bookmarks they got grandfathered??---cuz I have a high res Block S logo that I like to share with everyone that doesn't have a watermark or anything
5/4/2002 2:13:08 AM
I like the idea, but I am concerned with images like desktop backgrounds, where the higher resolutions are more desireable. Any thoughts about situations like these?-bigginal
5/4/2002 10:39:18 AM
they should be scaled down nicely .
5/4/2002 11:36:19 AM
Hahahaha. I guess we'll just have to start posting links to the "life-size" images on separate servers then.-bigginal
5/4/2002 11:51:24 AM
What happened to the delete picture checkboxes? Or better said, how do I delete pictures now?
5/4/2002 9:28:44 PM
Umm, clear your cache? The checkboxes are showing up fine for me...-bigginal
5/4/2002 10:37:16 PM
yeah, its wierd, they were there yesterday, and then not today, but now they're back. so, as whoever says this would say: WE BACK
5/5/2002 12:25:05 AM
I would have limited them to 600 width, but thats good enough.
5/5/2002 2:11:20 AM
have a checkbox to override it when you upload themmaybe make it a premium feature
5/6/2002 12:27:50 AM
"I like the idea, but I am concerned with images like desktop backgrounds, where the higher resolutions are more desireable. Any thoughts about situations like these?"- Same thought as him, I liked being able to show my 1600x1200 Desktop pic, but now when scaled down to 800x600, you can barely see text in the pictures... =(
5/27/2002 9:33:31 PM
the desktop threads are half the reason that i implemented it to begin with. a page with 40 full size pics of people's desktops uses several megabytes of bandwidth per page load.
5/27/2002 9:43:27 PM
not to mention, I wouldn't give a rat's half fucked ass to see a shot of your desktop. the height of arrogance. as if!
5/27/2002 9:45:21 PM
boooooooooooooooooooooo on resize
5/28/2002 4:36:26 PM
I LOVE IT! no one needs anything bigger than 800 x 600. This helps reduce lag and is a good idea, I think.
5/28/2002 4:38:19 PM
i'll resize it myself it it needs resizing
5/28/2002 5:58:16 PM
^Problem is those on here that don't know how.
5/30/2002 8:34:43 PM
I like it better this way, but it would be better if it also had that right side cutoff if it got bigger than the window, that thing you turned on for a few days and turned off.
5/30/2002 8:50:07 PM
i still got that one painting of mine in my gallery- it's big for a reason. it hasn't been resized so i'm cool with this large pics deal
