so i have to get another vehicle since my millenia just died....which sucks cause i just paid it off too...i'm looking for something that will be under $8000, reliable for a couple years, and gets good gas milage (so definately a car). I'd prefer a V6 and something other than a smaller car since i have to do a lot of traveling. Can i get some advice on which vehicles are good ones to look for and which makes are not worth the time/money??? -- i was told to look into honda/toyota but i just wanted to get some more info b/c i like Subaru and acura

cheaper to fix the millenia, well, probably cheaper than 8000 bucks

subarus do well if you're not planning on jacking the boost way up. and launching them at 4000 rpm from every stop light.

or so you think.... what year and engine is in your millenia???

its a 1996 2.5 V6 - 160,000 milesthe diagnoses i received was that my catalytic converter is done for plus there is a sensor going off that says a cylinder is screwed up as well.i'll admit i dont know cars like i did in high school but i'm tired of putting money into this car to see it break down again in 3 monthsoh and the back struts are bad (tho i dont HAVE to fix those...they just bug the hell out of me)

^^^ thats like 500-700 worth of repairs to do to keep your car. your paid off car i might add. those 2.5s are TERRIBLE about the valve cover gaskets going bad and leaking oil into the plug wire area, killing the wire and causing misfire(s). if you want a new car at least fix this bucket first then you can at least sell it for something. dont just walk away, saying "since my millenia just died"

I'll give you 300 dolla fer the Millenia.

^^can you recommend someone in the raleigh area thats trustworthy enough to go to...i hate not being able to go to a mechanic i know and can rely on. TOo many mechanics rape you on the time and the rate....i was quoted over 1000 for these repairs....do you think thats too much?
3/2/2007 3:17:29 AM
$100 would be too much for that in parts and labor
