If any of you responsible wolf webbers out there have desperately been looking for a puppy lately, I have to tell you that craigslist has some AMAZING dogs on there! everything from a 15wk old english springer spaniel to two min pins...Honestly I just got my dog off craigslist (she is a lab shepard mix that EVERYONE mistakes for a pure black lab). She is 3.5 mo old and we've had her for 3 weeks. SHe learned how to sit, shake, lay down, and "dance" in this short time!!!! Ok i'm done braggin about my amazing dog...hahaseriously though, if any of you are responsible, and serious about devoting time, energy, and oh yeah money (vet bills etc) to a furry friend, check out Craigslist for some awesome options!!!http://raleigh.craigslist.org/pet/ [Edited on February 28, 2007 at 7:45 PM. Do you get money for advertising craigslist for them or something?
2/28/2007 7:47:28 PM
haha no...I just have had the puppy bug lately, and I want every single one that is advertised. I know that isn't doable though so I thought maybe i'd releive my conscience by making others a little more aware of what they have to offer.SPCA is also a great source.

At the same time though...it's not really a good idea to encourage college students to adopt a pet that's a lifetime commitment.
3/1/2007 11:28:23 AM
noooo ... it's not good to encourage irresponsible pieces of shit to get pets, college has nothing to do with it.

I recommend the Wake County SPCA (off Tryon Rd.) for adoptions. The facilities are very clean and before you formally adopt the animal, you have to sit down for an interview with an adoption counselor, who reminds you (like ^ said) that a pet is a lifetime commitment. Also makes sure you can afford food, vet expenses, etc. A very pleasant experience, and I couldn't have asked for a cuter kitten![Edited on March 1, 2007 at 11:37 AM. Reason : pic problems ]

^food for the dogs?

here is a pic of my new puppy. I am picking him up on Friday!

ssclark, I said college because many people in college are not where they'll be settled for the rest of their life, and do not even know what they'll be doing for the rest of their life. I've just seen too many pets given up b/c people graduated and couldn't take the dog or cat to the new apartment or whatever.
3/1/2007 11:59:22 AM
^I agree that it is a lifetime commitment. I guess I just consider my two babies a part of my family so I make accomodations around them...I don't recommend irresponsible pet owners adopt...as I said

i want one but i want it to be potty trained already and i want to get rid of it when it is no longer a puppy...
3/4/2007 9:44:56 AM
spay/neuter please....
3/4/2007 11:04:27 AM
Come on guys...take your sarcasm to another message board .... like Soap Box or something. This is just an FYI thread for those responsible folks that are seriously looking for a puppy or dog that they can give a loving, nurturing, forever home to.It just makes me sad to see how many dogs are at risk for euthanasia because people don't understand the responsibility when they pick up these little bundles of joy (and vet bills). So if you understand what having a dog means then this thread is for you...yes--spay and neuter...also--vaccinate, exercise, training, heartworm prevention, flea prevention, etc.Happy sunday
3/4/2007 1:56:31 PM
i understand that and i am serious i dont ever want a dog to not be a "puppy"
