goin on a cruise to western caribbean - hittin cozumel, caymen islands, and jamaica.......got something cool planned for each excursion such as scuba/snorkel with the sting rays/dolphin interactions.....but since you're on the island for like 8-12 hours.....looking for things to do after the excursions are over.....Any hiking, relaxing beaches, shopping, resturaunts, venues - other excurions that were a lot of fun?

Grand Caymen is where you buy liquor- a lot cheaper there than on the boat or in the states, just remember the cruise line keeps it until your last night on board where it is then delivered to your cabin. Also, the turtle farm in grand caymen was pretty neat- I thought it would suck, but was surprised. As for Jamaica, if you're going to Ocho Rios, there is a little area with shops right at the end of the pier- has Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville in it and some other cool shops. If you're looking for a watch, Jamaica is the place to buy one of those. Can't help ya out on Cozumel, only did a 5 night one to GC and Jamaica last summer.

we weren't on the caymans for long, went shittin around the town (i think George Town), ate some food. cousin got some good rum-cake there.we went on the waterfall hike in jamaica, it was pretty damn sweet. not sure how much it costs, but you have to take a taxi out to it from the dock. when we stopped in mexico the dropped a group off in cancun and we took a little plane out to do the mayan ruins tour at chitchen itza, that was awesome too. then they took us to cozumel to catch the boat for the rest of the cruise. pretty sure that was an expensive little day trip though. as for partying n such, i was only 13 so i can't give too much help. i do remember the tourist shops near the dock in jamaica had some cool shit, and you could taste samples of the rum (dozens of kinds) before you bought it.

where in Jamaica are you going to port? Montego Bay or Ocho Rios? If you are pulling into Mo' Bay the best thing to do is go on an excursion, as Mo' Bay SUCKS ASS.... I heard from a lot of people that the Dunn's River Falls was an awesome trip.We pulled into Cozumel, but went to the mainland for the Tolum Ruins excursion, it was pretty neat, but I wish we would have had time to get onto Cozumel.Grand Cayman was awesome, we just hung out in George Town and mainly at Senor Frogs and walked around town. That was where we bought our liquor on the cruise as it was the cheapest we found. Also did a lot of shopping. There is a load of money in that area, and it was really nice. Got absolutely shit faced at Senor Frogs. Outside of Key West it was my favorite stop on the cruise. We're doing a southern this fall... which ship/line are you going on?

^ carnival2 more questions then i'll shut up Has anyone done the scuba in Cozumel? What is a good company to do it with....I think I'll sign up through the cruise line for ease.....but everyone says you can get it cheaper when you get off the boat.Is the Port Canaveral space center worth it on the drive up or down?

can't comment on the excursions, but just remember if it's through the ship then there is no worry of being left.. if it's not through the ship there's always that risk. As for PC... we visited when we played in the Tangerine Bowl a number of years ago and we enjoyed it, we made it a day after we checked out of the hotel to drive up to Daytona to the track and then to PC and then to the airport, it was an awesome day. If you're into aviation history or NASA history or just history in general it's a pretty neat place.also check out http://www.cruisecritic.com for some awesome message boards in relation to cruising, you can also meet other people who have done your cruise or who will be on your cruise.have fun

Looks like they are updating the webpage, but here it is for the turtle farm http://www.turtle.ky/main.cfmWhen I was there they were finshing up the expansion which was going to include scuba areas I believe. Also, like shevais said, check out cruise critic. You can get all sorts of neat tips and packing ideas. As for taking liquor on the boat, yes you can do it, just put it in your checked bag. I took a fifth of rum and a fifth of vodka and just wrapped them up inside a pair of jeans (no need to transfer to water bottle or mouth wash bottle, etc.)I did the Dunn River Falls climb in Jamaica as well, and it is pretty neat. Pack a pair of water shoes with you if you plan on doing this, that way you won't have to rent them there. If you can, take the "Cool Runnings" excursion to do the climb- it was through Carnival.
