2/28/2007 6:16:33 PM
^^ i win.^ i bet the rest of the world thinks we're pussies for not doing anything even though we hate our president's policies.
2/28/2007 6:22:03 PM
ok then....answer your own thread....what do you suggest we do? Overthrow him? All the cool countries in the world are overthrowing their leaders, so we wouldnt be cool unless we revolt against ours......then we could fit in with the rest of the world!
2/28/2007 6:28:19 PM
i don't answer my own threads, sorry. it's not cool.
2/28/2007 6:31:25 PM
^^don't u guys brag about your system of government and how it puts the power in the peoples hands? should be a fairly simple process...if the majority is unhappy with the president...impeach him. OR don't vote for him twice in a row
2/28/2007 7:03:41 PM
You do what's going on now: minimize his ability to rule. The Democratic Congress will find plenty of ways to neuter him, and his own party is already starting to turn against him and focus on the 2008 Presidential election.
2/28/2007 8:40:17 PM
I don't know how to tell you guys this, but Bush was reelected in 2004.
2/28/2007 8:50:29 PM
thanks. i didnt know that.

I didn't vote in 2004, so I won't say anything. I can say confidently that I do like pizza though.

Like it or not...1) More people voted for him than any other candidate (you can argue this but the fact is he won)2) What possible good would come to overthrowing someone which would cause economic turmoil, loss of leadership and law and general chaos for about 10 years (like in every country where they overthrew. They are constantly in a state of civil war). Or you can wait 2 more years3) When Bush was elected the other options weren't that good either. Anyone that says Kerry was great obviouslly didn't watch the election to see why Kerry Lost. Kerry lost because he wouldn't just come out and say how he was going to accomplish his goals. All he said was how bad Bush's ideas were. Plus his background was highly questionable. As a note: I didn't vote for either presidential candidate. My reason? I didn't like either and had no preference what so ever so used my right not to vote for either.

^^Dont say he won because he got more votes. That opens up a can of nasty giant worms. Also, Kerry lost because he is a giant fucking douchebag. Dont excuse him by saying he didnt give us a plan.
3/1/2007 9:01:56 AM
He DIDNT give us a plan

There's a lot of anger at this administration - some of it is warranted, some of it isn't. Bush hasn't done anything to deserve impeachment. People are constantly accusing him of unconstitutional policies, when they really have no idea what the constitution says about the subject, or what powers the president has.

yeah, but it's just been in the past 2 years or so when his popularity really went in the toilet. http://www.hist.umn.edu/~ruggles/Approval.htm[Edited on March 1, 2007 at 11:29 AM. Reason : .]

Personally, I don't think it's worth trying to impeach Bush at this point. By the time you go through the entire investigation and spectacle, it'll already be time for the 2008 elections. Why waste the time and effort to make a spiteful strike back before a tired and weary electorate when instead, you could simply talk about the future and what you and your party will do to make the world a better place (and thus, why they should elect you and your party next year)?Besides, do you really want to bring forth President Dick Cheney, even if only for a short period of time?

1/2 of it is just the media making things seem worse than they are.don't forget that good news is no news

I guess you must think first terms are decided by the supreme court and second terms are by the people the people still voted for him but because of florida other measures had to be taken.

the only reason i support people bringing up Florida in 2000 and Ohio in 2004 is because I would like to see Diebold out of the voting business and would like to see Harris and Blackwell put behind bars.Other than that it is uesless to put shit up like "reelect Gore". its so childish.

3/2/2007 12:06:25 AM
Right, but the popular vote has nothing to do with who is elected; that's the law. If you have a problem with the law, that's one thing, but we can just go around changing things without going through the right channels. You're basically saying that since Bush won Florida by a small margin (if even that), we should just ignore it and assume that Gore won.

but i thought katrina, 9/11, wolfpack basketball, the bunyon on my toe, the heavy rainstorm yesterday, and pretty much everything else is Bush's fault since he is ultimately in charge
