I'm looking at buying a used car in the next week or two, and I'd want to get it inspected by a mechanic in the apex/holly springs/fuquay varina area. I haven't used anyone in this area before, so I'd appreciate recommendations.

Also, one of the cars im looking at is a 2006 w/ 7500 miles on it. Since it is still covered under 3yr/36k warranty, is it still worth it to get it inspected by an independent mechanic?

honestly, with a car that new having a warranty i wouldn't mess with having it inspected as long as it drives well.

most mechanics are just looking for basic things, rarely do you get a real thorough inspection. it can be worth it for an older vehicle that possibly has easy to spot bigger problems.

you could request that the owner have the car looked over by the local whatever brand it is dealer. sometimes they'll do it as a courtesy free of charge for vehicles still under warranty, especially if it's the same dealer the car was purchased from.
