Ok I need to purchase a HDMI cablem and I dont know want to spend a butt load of money. I am thinking since HDMI is Digital quality won't matter right???? I will be using for a ps3, I have component hooked up now, but I just purchased a wii and it takes component and so does the cable box so now I need a HDMI cable for the PS3 because I am all out of component inputs. I have a reciever that runs component but I do not feel like dealing with that for video. Also since I will want surroud sound for the PS3, is there a way I can continue to run a optical cable from the PS3 into the reciever and turn off the audio on the HDMI that will run to the TV?Thanks

If you don't buy a Monster cable, zombies will eat your first born. I don't know if you want to take those chances.

Most tvs will have a mute tv audio function (other than the mute button on the remote)

Most people don't know this but we've got pretty good prices on HDMI cables at the bookstore. I think you can get 6ft for around $19 and 12/15ft for $38 or so? Anyway, if you're on campus we're open until 6pm today and from 10am-4pm tomorrow. There's no shipping and you can pick it up immediately, and if you live near campus we're convenient. <3(PAY FOR AN AD!)Just trying to save the guy some money, the bookstore is non-profit anyway. They might. And he ^^ works there and bitches about stuff we have no control over. <3He's new. He has no idea how little control we have over any of that. They won't give us control over the website because they don't trust us to put up proper new content. Any content we created (all of which I've pretty much created; the pricing lists, the various sales flyers in the past semester) is run through a higher-up manager who is responsible for the website. Anything on there they don't want on there is cut out. Anything not approved to be put up on the website will be cut out. We've got updates to the site that we've sent to be put up that haven't been put up yet, as our management staff is over-worked at this time (and the guy who runs the website is too busy keeping the registers from catching fire and imploding). So yes, I agree, we do need prices up there. We're working on that, we were also going to try to get control to update a weekly "flyer" section of the website for computer connections. It's going to be painful and slow, and it'll all probably happen well after I'm gone.Anyway, there's your insight into your little local student bookstore. <3[Edited on February 24, 2007 at 12:24 AM. Just thought I'd actually post the prices for our HDMI cables.2m HDMI cables for $19.99.5m HDMI cables for $28.95.The suggested retail on them from the buyer was more than twice that, but that would effectively be robbery considering what we paid.

^thats expensive. Don't settle for that price.[Edited on February 27, 2007 at 5:38 PM. Reason : not very, but still expensive]
