back in mid september I did some delivery work for a company that has offices in the area and corporate offices in FL. I'm basically owed $180... sure not much but damned if I don't deserve it.

I've been emailed and calling the guy I was working for for weeks, months afterward and he would MAYBE answer a call, and MAYBE answer an email... got to the point where I called to speak with his supervisor, and I got his secretary... She said she'd send it down to corporate, yada yada yda, talked with ehr a few more times she said shed check on it..

So far, nothing... any ideas on hwo to get my money?

Call and pretend to be a lawyer. Or better yet, get a lawyer to call.

Request absolutely everything in writing and submit everything in writing (emails count). They can (and sometimes will) hold any and all verbal conversations company confidential.

the problem with a lawyer is they will cost more than the money owed..

tell them the interest is accruing......and now they owe you more......and that you'll call one of those credit collecting agencies to come stalk them..

BBB is a consumer affairs organization, they most likely are not going to come to bat for you over an issue dealing with employment or you contracting with them.

make a personal appearance and if they fuck with you tell them you intend to contact a lawyer.

Here's how you deal with it.

1) Call the corporate office and ask to speak with the head of Human Resources. Explain your situation in a calm manner and how you want the situation resolved. Basically be very kind, and courteous and explain that you've exhausted your other options.

IF, and only IF, they are not helpful go up the chain. Be professional, be courteous. 30 minutes of work and you'll get your check.

Do NOT agree to call them back. Give them your number and expect a call the same day. Explain in a calm manner that if you have to call back it's going up the chain each time. When a bosses bosses boss has to deal with a situation someone 3 levels down should have done the first time, especially over $180 fucking dollars... I guarantee you you'll have your money and they'll get an ass chewing.

i'd tell them that you've spoken to a compliance officer at the department of labor and you were wondering if they did more than half a million in business annually or not - because you need to know whether or not you're gonna have to go federal with your complaint.

i bet that gets them off their asses pretty fast. i agree with calling HR, but it sounds like this company is too small... and even if I called the HR manager, i'd just use the labor thing. and if they dont pay still, call the wage and hour division at the DOL and file a complaint for real, thats what they are there for...

from the bbb website. this would fall under b2b transaction involving sale of a service. If you do contact them, however, I would make sure the books for whatever service you provide are accurate and up to date, just to be safe.
