I don't know a lot about computers, which is part of the reason I have switched to a MacBook (much less problematic) but i'll try to give all the info I can...It originally came with windows ME but it now has XP on it. THe problem is...it will turn on but I can't log in for some reason...I don't know why.It turns on but usually takes about 2-3 minutes to fully sign onI got it in 2001.It is a PCG-FX240This is what it looks likeSpecs (what it says online anyway)Processor : Intel PIII 800RAM : 128 MegsHard Drive : 15 Gignetwork : etherExpress Pro 100sound : i810video : intel 815EMI-Link : Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394DVD : matshita UJDA710PCMCIA : Ricoh R15C476 CardbusModem : Conexant-Ambit Softk56

It is a great deal for all the parts that you can get out of it. Plus if you know anything in depth about PC's it should be easily fixed and upgraded...but thats your perogative
2/22/2007 5:28:04 PM
^ no it isnt a great dealit is so-so at best
2/22/2007 5:43:56 PM
^Agreed.Welcome to TWW.

^^^ Sony's are not easily fixed or upgraded. This laptop is not worth $100 in it's condition. The problem could be a bad motherboard, which makes the laptop completely worthless. You should probably take the $60 and run!
