Where is the best place online to order new sprockets? Looking for a 15t front and a 46t rear for my 929. Where have you guys ordered from with good experience?

you getting a new chain as well? you might as well. 929 is 530 or 525 chain size stock?
2/20/2007 11:00:03 PM
15 46.. woah now i think u need..14 76... sounds better much better
2/20/2007 11:02:26 PM
530 stock, yes planning on replacing it. stock sprockets are 16 f 43r. just want better acceleration, and it wont compromise the top speed much, if at all.
2/20/2007 11:11:48 PM
oh it will bring ur top speed down. but not my much.im actually going 1 down 2or3 up on the rear as well. 520 conversion tho[Edited on February 20, 2007 at 11:30 PM. Reason : d]

thank god for shaft drive oh wait it sucks ass...
2/20/2007 11:38:12 PM
it would take 2 seconds to take apart again. to change ur chain u take off ur wheel and the sprocket cover lol gg. go to cycle gear pickup sprockets there. i wouldnt get vortex i dont like them. im getting my setup off of a private seller on ebay that sold his bike

http://www.sumofallparts.net has been the cheapest i've found for sprockets. for you they have combos chain/sprocket for really good prices.http://www.sumofallparts.net/product_detail.aspx?item_guid=1556a1bb-58ad-468c-b92b-35046d3ba054thats a 929 15/45 520 chain conversion. that'd be a nice little setup. hopefully i'll be ordering a conversion like that for my bike.[Edited on February 21, 2007 at 12:00 AM. taking the front sprocket requires quite a bit of torque. Taking the chain off should be easy as long as you have a change breaker. You'll have to revet the master link when putting the new chain on too, or you can use those clip-on stuff so its not permanently on.^actually, not bad prices. Might have to get a new set for the f2...[Edited on February 20, 2007 at 11:59 PM. Reason : ]

remember 520's stretch a lot more. ull have do adjust more. if this deal on ebay falls through im going 530 or 525 (if they make 525) 50 tooth in the back or something.jeff u want to go half and half on a chain breaker? they run like 100 bucks.

ok dont listen to them fools. go to http://www.sprocketspecialists.com or http://www.vortexracing.com. i've gotten sprockets from both of them before and they are all top quality. let's just say each of my sprockets outlasted each of my bikes so far
2/21/2007 7:30:17 AM
ur bike only has what 10k on the vortex? that aint shit
2/21/2007 9:30:54 AM
thanks guys, sumofallparts.net seems to have some pretty good deals, think I am going to order from them. I am sticking with a 530 chain though.
2/21/2007 9:34:51 AM
just make sure they are steel and not aluminum if you want to get any kind of life out of them
2/21/2007 9:56:36 AM
aluminum is a pretty soft metal..... i think though if you can keep the chain clean, lubed, and adjusted it can last for a respectable amount of time. good luck anyways
2/21/2007 10:37:17 AM
as far as the 520 chains sumofallparts uses that x type chain with the conversions which i've heard have a higher tensile strength.....then again this has all came from others experience and not my own.

just bought a stock 530 RK chain/votex sprocket set for 139.35 on this site http://www.parts411.comI was gonna get it from bikebandit as I just bought new steel lines and race pads, but I just saved 10 bucks... even though I just spent 300 right now in the middle of class... :p
2/22/2007 11:48:30 AM
how much were the steel lines jeff where u get them? i want a set for my bike.
2/22/2007 1:27:43 PM
all of my sprockets were aluminum and they seem to last just fine....

good deal... i wouldnt have bought it because of the way he worded the aution though. first saying there was a scratch and to look at it in the pictures, then saying everything was new? Hope it works out for ya!
