WTF
2/20/2007 7:42:12 AM
That is kinda depressing, but at the same time if the girl can't support herself or the child then she was killing it anyway if the parents decided to drop her.
2/20/2007 7:50:09 AM
I could understand having to turn the baby over for adoption but forcing her to abort??... that's unrealistic. Now, I'm 110% for Abortion. I will support that until the day I die. But not when it's forced. Abortion is an option, not a requirement.
2/20/2007 7:53:30 AM
^ agreed
2/20/2007 7:58:36 AM
she was a minor. she had no say in this matter.
2/20/2007 8:01:11 AM
i think children have some right in what procedures are done to them, particularly if there is no potential physical harm to the child.
2/20/2007 8:10:59 AM
^^in other news, water is wet.
2/20/2007 8:17:12 AM
^^As a child she cannot fully comprehend her actions.and where is the link to this story?[Edited on February 20, 2007 at 8:37 AM. Reason : .]
2/20/2007 8:37:22 AM
Well i believe this is a fake thread. But secondly Its her body if she wants to have it I say let her. Then force her to drop out of school get a job pay and raise the baby with her 15 yera old b/f. As long as people cover up there kids mistakes they will continue to make them without worrying about it. Lots of girls i knew thought having a kid would be great when there were really young until the first one had one. Then they all got smart.
2/20/2007 8:41:55 AM
^^that's great and all. but should a family be allowed to force a child to have cosmetic surgery just because they wanna? this abortion is not medically required. allow the parents to put the baby up for adoption, sure.
2/20/2007 8:57:51 AM
The girl and the parents will secretly thank the judge, later. It's the best thing to do in this situation.
2/20/2007 8:58:11 AM
of course the parents will.also this article may be fake.it came from the "malta star" yesterday and is no longer up.the only other places i've seen it are pro-life websites and a blog or two.
2/20/2007 9:00:28 AM
I need my link.
2/20/2007 9:06:27 AM
the original article is no longer up. but i can link you to a pro-life site, catholic site or blog. . . just search for italy abortion in google news or something.
2/20/2007 9:08:47 AM
so in essence there is no real story here.
2/20/2007 9:13:12 AM
it seems like it might be a little sensationalized (or invented) to stir things up by the catholics/pro-lifers.
2/20/2007 9:14:15 AM
That's exactly what i'm thinkingWhen I search this, I'm finding the same story with different bylines. I'm going with fake[Edited on February 20, 2007 at 9:18 AM. Reason : .]
2/20/2007 9:16:17 AM
if fake then goodI hope soI think forced abortion is awful
2/20/2007 11:26:19 AM
I'm also 100% pro choice.and this is just wrong.
2/20/2007 2:15:56 PM
2/20/2007 5:47:36 PM
I read freakonomics, and if you did too, then you'd realize that has nothing to do with this case.this is about FORCED abortion.not row vs. wade, where the CHOICE to abort an unwanted baby was made legal. If you think this is a good idea, how do you feel about forced sterilization for girls in "low income" families?
2/20/2007 6:15:52 PM
there's no reason to force sterilize children in low-income families. there is a reason to abort children born to parents who have absolutely no capability to raise themand no i understand what the issue is, i was simply expressing the fact that the end result, her aborting the child, was absolutely the correct thing to do. i do accept the fact though that it is pretty fucked up she wasn't able to make that decision herself. then again, she's a minor, and that's pretty much how the shit rollsall in all, i think the judge made the correct decision. and obviously her CHOICE was to have the baby which would have had a hiiiigh probability of coming back to bite society in the ass. sometimes people are too young and stupid to make well informed decisions that have consequences for the future
2/20/2007 6:22:58 PM
You would have made a fantastic Nazi.
2/20/2007 6:31:28 PM
the judge upheld the laws of italy. I believe Italy like many european countries still apply coveture.furthermore, we cannot even say if this happened or not.
2/20/2007 7:31:13 PM
^ an interesting point
2/20/2007 7:51:36 PM
if there are parents that allow their children to die because they dont believe in modern medicine per their religious beliefs then this is acceptable
2/20/2007 7:59:30 PM
that 15 yr old kid needs to take a lesson from American and start fucking hot 28 yr old teachers and not 13 yr olds... gosh..
2/20/2007 9:24:24 PM
^exactly, where were those teachers when i was coming up in school????????
2/27/2007 5:51:52 AM
^That comment has been made about a bazillion times. You were horny. We get it.[Edited on February 27, 2007 at 10:22 PM. Reason : I forgive you.]

I personally think with little kids that we baby them to much these days. my dad and mom let me make my own decisions and suffer the concequences. If we keep letting kids screw up and then fix there problems what is that teaching our youth? its okay to screw up mommy and daddy will take care of things. Of course having a child is a more indepth problem. I beleive that parents need to tlak to there kids more about sex and having baby's at a younger age if not they will find out this way.
2/28/2007 9:26:18 AM
this really should be locked. this really seems like a fabricated story. the only "news" agencies that have picked up on this are pro-life websites. the one actual paper that originally ran the story pulled it later that same day.
2/28/2007 10:30:43 AM
here is a link to the italian newspaper that reportedly broke the story firsthttp://www.lastampa.it/redazione/default.aspif anyone speaks italian they can feel free to peruse the site and see if they find anything
2/28/2007 10:33:12 AM
i don't speak italian, but i found an article about this cached:http://www.lastampa.it/Torino/cmsSezioni/cronaca/200702articoli/1641girata.asp

^looks like it...let me try something very crude
