BUST
2/19/2007 12:05:54 PM
wow, do they really think that Norv Turner is a better coach than Marty Schottenheimer?Norv has only coached TWO GAMES in the playoffs
2/19/2007 12:07:45 PM
Damn [Edited on February 19, 2007 at 12:08 PM. Reason : ^ At least he's .500 ]
2/19/2007 12:07:58 PM

2/19/2007 12:15:31 PM

looks like P Riv will be coaching on the field again.... [Edited on February 19, 2007 at 12:44 PM. Reason : .]
2/19/2007 12:43:53 PM
Oh man, what an upgrade...
2/19/2007 12:46:06 PM
First off Norv is a pretty good offensive coach, he just coached in two systems where the ownership group is nuts, Washington - Dan Snyder signs has beens and washed up stars. Oakland - Al Davis is just nuts.Remember Norv ran the Cowboys offense when they had lots of weapons. He's going to have Rivers, Tomlinson, Gates. Its not the end of the world for the Chargers.
2/19/2007 12:50:24 PM
whats ur 2nd off
2/19/2007 12:55:59 PM
isn't san diego still running the same offense that norv turner put in place when he was the offensive coordinator a few years ago?
2/19/2007 1:09:04 PM
he will just need the right defensive coordinator. like papa said, Norv was the OC for two superbowl winning teams back to back. just to bad San Diego is a small time franchise and does not have the ability to lure that big time DC.
2/19/2007 1:16:12 PM
the chargers went 1-15 when norv was the offensive coordinator. norv sucks. this is a shitty hire. rex ryan should've been the man. aj smith needs to quit being so fucking cheap.[Edited on February 19, 2007 at 1:24 PM. Reason : ]
2/19/2007 1:23:58 PM
HAHAHAHAAHAHHAAHAHHAHAHAHAAHAHHAHAHAHAgood thing they got merriman to carry that team again
2/19/2007 1:27:51 PM
this is terrible
2/19/2007 1:30:54 PM
Norv Turner is a very good OC. As a head coach I don't think he will get it done. I'll you one thing --- San Francisco fans are quite upset he left. They credit him almost entirely for the dramatic improvement of both Gore and Alex Smith..
2/19/2007 1:35:56 PM
2/19/2007 1:41:56 PM
you are saying you would rather have not merriman than have him? rightyou are a fool
2/19/2007 1:43:56 PM
no, I'm saying LT carries the chargersand Merriman is just a very good defensive player
2/19/2007 1:44:37 PM
no, we would rather have LT than Merrymanwe can win w/out merryman but not w/o LT
2/19/2007 1:45:34 PM
you are crazy merriman turned that team aroundthey have had lt for years but only got good when merriman got therelook it up, fact/thread finished
2/19/2007 1:52:06 PM
hahahahanice one, troll
2/19/2007 1:53:06 PM
DIDN'T THE CHARGES GO UNDEFEATED WHEN MERRIMAN WAS SUSPENDED THIS YEAR?THAT GUY IS THE DUMBEST MOTHERFUCKER ON THE PLANET
2/19/2007 1:55:17 PM
Guys. You're aruging with an alias. Or an idiot. Either way you can't win.
2/19/2007 1:56:44 PM
didnt the charges NOT go undefeated with LT for years?exactlythis is too easy arugueing with these fools
2/19/2007 2:03:07 PM
that doesnt even make sense.i'm rymngarfunkl?
2/19/2007 2:07:49 PM
made perfect sense fooldont be that guyHAHAHAnext
2/19/2007 2:11:41 PM
P.R is not going to have much fun this year, along with the whole team. AFC is too tough, and with a new O.C, D.C and NORV as a head coach, I see them going 9-7, maybe 10-6, but missing the playoffs.
2/19/2007 2:16:38 PM
2/19/2007 2:18:33 PM
Denver...Their O-line always seems to dominate with any running back in the backfield, which should take a lot of pressure of Cutler. Plus, Cutler will be able to get the job done better than shaky jake the snake
2/19/2007 2:21:21 PM
it may be one thing if the they just wanted a whipping boy until someone like Cowher put his name back in the hat, but by then LT may be past his prime, and without Schotty, the dominant D and running schemes may have deteriorated...this is just plain dumb
2/19/2007 2:34:28 PM
Norv is not all that bad....I wanted Dallas to get him instead of Phillips. He coached probably 2 of the 3 worst franchises in football now in the Redskins and Raiders.Steve Spurrier couldn't even cut it in Washington.
2/19/2007 2:34:58 PM
^ there is so much wrong with that statementthe skins were 50-30 under gibbs' last five years. they were 4-12 under petitbon for ONE YEAR. then norv took over and they went 32-47.so are you saying petitbon somehow took a super bowl team to the shitter in one year and poor old norv couldn't revive them in five more years?also, "steve spurrier couldn't even cut it" he's done so well everywhere else in the nfl so it must be a problem with washington right?
2/19/2007 2:46:43 PM
Most of Steve Spurriers players couldn't cut it in the NFL either.

^ Opinion or linked somewhere?
2/19/2007 4:34:07 PM

2/19/2007 4:35:54 PM
Turner is .500 in the playoffs, Marty is .278. Turner is clearly the better coach!
2/19/2007 4:58:54 PM
As long as the coordinators are good, they should still be the favorite.Do they have an OC yet?

hellacious hiresbttt
2/19/2007 11:13:36 PM
what an epic failure
2/20/2007 12:11:09 AM
2/20/2007 12:13:40 AM
They should have hired mora. WEST COAST OFFENSE BITCHES
2/20/2007 12:15:38 AM
Well, they did get the DC they wanted and even landed Rivera as their LB coach. I'm not a big fan of Norv BUT I am a big fan of them keeping the same offense and allowing Rivers to keep running it instead of having to try to learn something else for once. Hopefully it'll help Rivers out keeping consistency in the offense and their defense will basically be the same.
2/20/2007 12:52:24 AM
lol, I just love it when I see a sports team run itself into the ground. After all the times you see it, you think it will never happen again. But here come the Chargers fucking things all up again. GG guys, way to go from SB favorites, to "lucky to make the playoffs"
2/20/2007 12:52:28 AM
you dont hire him as your DC because he doesn't know how to run a 3-4
