YES, LARGE SUV'S!THEY HAVE THEIR FINGER ON THE PULSE OF CONSUMER DEMAND IN THESE DAYS OF HIGH GAS PRICESNO WONDER THEY ARE DOING SO WELLeh hem

Not a big surprise. They are probably trying to make them more fuel efficient. The automakers work together quite a bit. Ford and GM recently collaborated to build the 6-speed automatic transmission.GM has more shit coming down the line exciting than most other car manufacturers these days, thanks to Bob Lutz. His focus has mainly been on cars, crossovers, etc. I have barely heard a peep about their SUV line anymore. But that doesn't mean they should let it stagnate. If this allows them to develop products and sprea the cost among a wider area, then its a smart business decision. They don't need to spend lots of cash.[Edited on February 18, 2007 at 8:07 AM. they should be focusing on more gas-economical vehicles. That's why they can't compete with japanese companies.

^^^did you say that you barely hear anything from GMs SUV line? That's the main thing that's keeping them alive right now.

I thought it had been known for a while that the two were going to work together on an SUV hybrid drivetrain setup.

^they need to. Thus far, hybrid programs for FoMoCo and GM have been licensed from Toyota.
