i don't like this at all!!! for one thing, we don't have a single defensive end ideal for a 3-4 scheme. secondly, we're depleted at the linebacker position. of the 'backers we do have, i have no idea how many are familiar with playing in a 3-4.

tommy-o should stick with the 4-3 for atleast 1 season, and recruit some linebackers and stout defensive ends.

that was a misprint. he has been quoted as saying we will run whatever our personel is best suited for and that is 4-3. at BC they ran a 4-3. we wont be running a base 3-4 next year, although i personally dont think that would be a bad thing.

he did say they would incorporate some blitzing schemes and stuff from a 3-4 though.

willie young and littleton wright could both play OLB in the 3-4. demarrio pressley, mike cash and antione holmes are all good size for the 3-4 DE. what we lack is the beast nose guard ala jamal williams of the chargers.

archer per an interview on statefans... (ill paraphrase as to not get in trouble)

- our personel at nc state is better suited to a 4-3

- on film evaluations, our players probably run a 4-3 better than a 3-4, but we will be looking closely during the spring

- we stick with a 4-3

- ill use parts of the 3-4 in certain situations

nah, our linebackers would get killed. there isn't enough experience, and the depth is definitely lacking. lerue rumph and ernest jones are seniors, but everyone else are underclassmen with minimal to no playing time. and like you said, we don't have a viable nose tackle. i don't think we have a single d-lineman over 300 lbs left now that tank is gone. matrel brown would be excellent in a 3-4, and we'd have to move one of the dt's to the other end.

demario pressley, and perhaps alan-michael cash as the backup. i think i remember reading gerard miller benched 450lbs coming out of high school. he should be stronger now, so he could probably be a decent nose tackle after another season of bulking up.

he got redshirted and stuck behind a bunch of 1st rounders.

crouch is huge, and he is very aggressive. he could be a good nose tackle, but that'd be a shitty thing to do to our current defensive tackles. besides, curtis is needed more on the o-line. if an offensive linemen were to be moved, it should probably be yomi ojo. he's pretty big, and probably won't see playing time on the offensive side anyways.

The two points in bold imply to me that the linemen vs linebackers thing was an error in the transcription of the interview. Not to mention that the DC said we were most likely doing 4-3.
