Its an anniversary, but we dont want to go all out, maybe eat for ~40-50 bucks total. Any ideas around Raleigh? We are doing sushi this weekend, so I'd like to stay away from that whole area but anything else is good.

I thought Cafe Luna was very nice.

You might also try An in Cary, they have a unique(to NC) Asian selection with a very modern atmosphere.

I hate cafe luna...its got such a chick atmosphere. It is GREAT for dining with the girls...on girls night, but if my boyfriend took me there I would call him a pussy.

It may not be as expensive or "fancy" as some of the restaurants, but I still hold that Carrabbas is one of my favorite restaurants. And the Chocolate Dream Cake is heaven!!!

Bella Monica is awesome.

Great little place that you wouldn't normally expect to find.

Bella Monica is great, a real gem. I hate 518, the waitstaff is rude if you don't drink and the food is just not that good. Also, good, Nina's in North Raleigh, that's some good Italian!

The Rockford is our standby; and you can actually get good food and a couple of drinks for your budget...

I totally forgot about this place untill yesterday. This kick ass fine dinning mexican resturant opened. Its a resturant and tequilla lounge named Jibara. The astomsphere is kick ass, its almost worth it to go there for that alone

I second the rockford . . and dude . . don't spend that much money if you don't have to, that's fucking crazy.
amount spent =/= amount loved.

518 is good (but I'm biased), sit at a bar table if you can.

5 star is also an excellent choice.

Cafe luna was a huge disappointment . . . NOTHING was made in-house, bleh.

haha... she got here and i was all excited to start getting ready for our night out and she says... 'I have been craving some Moe's forever'. So, we got some Moe's, went back to the apt and watched the Canes game. She is coming back tonight so maybe we can hit up a nice restaurant for dinner tomorrow.

^as far as the spending money thing... we live about an hour apart and we dont get to do things like this too much, so we look forward to our big nights together. but we both know that we dont need to spend a lot of money to be happy, we did moe's last night and had just as good of a time

sorry if im 'reguratating' something here, but I am looking for info relevant to me today. I have a specific need that I wanted addressed and I took it here and got great feedback. The only person who hasnt contributed anything to this and has wasted everyone's time is you, sir.
