what... the... fuck??? i'm sure alot of schools backed off him, because of his off-field issues. however, florida state, miami, lsu, etc. still wanted him. west virginia seems like a horrible place for him in terms of environment. i don't think he'll like it there.

Is he going to qualify even? They are loaded at RB too now though. Jason Gwaltney is back with the team to on top of Slaton and Schmidt.[Edited on February 7, 2007 at 11:50 AM. Reason : he's got mouths to feed. 3 of them.. 3 kids by the time he was 17. wtf.]

i am under the impression that if noel devine could spell his own name it would be an amazing feat......i don't think this guy will be enrolled at WVU, i am guessing prep, but we shall see, seems like other schools backed off him a bit
2/7/2007 11:49:42 AM
maybe he's got John Denver on his ipodand doesn't think he's full of shit
2/7/2007 11:51:54 AM
He's not gonna qualify, even with West Virginia's admission standard.
2/7/2007 12:00:00 PM
prep school would be in his best interest anyways, not only in terms of his football career, but also getting his life straightened out.

PER CNNSI.COM, devine will not sign today onthe advice of Deion Sanders

how the hell does someone get a 13 on the ACT and then 1580 on the SAT? Something isn't right here.

the sat scale was changed???^ it's based on the stuff i've read about him. he's like willie williams. i don't think he'll get along with the hillbillies in shitty morgantown.[Edited on February 7, 2007 at 1:24 PM. Reason : ]

I looked up the comparison between the New SAT and the ACT. A 1580 on the new SAT is like getting a 22 on the ACT. How the hell does this guy jump 9 points on the ACT? (approx 400 points on old SAT)? When I was in high school some guy jumped 5 points on the ACT and everyone thought he cheated.
2/7/2007 2:15:55 PM
ACT is more math, while SAT has more English. Maybe he is stronger in English related fields?

No real new news. He is enrolled again at WVU but needs to make up lots of work over the summer to qualify academically for the team. Something like 24-26 credits this semester and over the summer. If he does that he'll be able to walk-on the team and possibly earn a scholly. I'd get you the link but their scout.com board is a Noel Devine/Deion Sanders hating mess right now..[Edited on February 7, 2007 at 4:54 PM. Reason : x]

Really suprised, sounded like both sides had burned a lot of bridges when we was off the team
2/7/2007 4:55:16 PM
hmmm... it appears he signed his LOI at WVU a few days ago... not that he'll ever qualify considering the Big East upped their requirements on par with the ACC now.. surprised I didn't hear anything about it on here or other boards...

It's not out of 1600I know the NCAA really only looks at the 1600, but I'm 99% sure they're reporting his entire score out of 2400. That still seems high. 1580 - 800 (essay) = 780. That's assuming he aced the essay (Which he probably got more around a 400-500, giving him nearly 1000 on the rest of his SAT's). No way that kid could get anywhere near a 900-1000. Supposedly, he's lucky just to learn to spell his name[Edited on April 6, 2007 at 8:56 AM. Reason : ]

If he got a >900 SAT he would be fine even with a 2.0 GPA. If he got >700 SAT he would need a 2.5 GPA to qualify (this is from the old SAT scale so take out essay scores for comparison sake).13 ACT is pretty stupid though and that doesn't jive with a qualifying SAT score. Remember, Sean Dockery is borderline retarded/autistic and even he got a 17 ACT (or so they say) to qualify late for Duke..
