have you driven a 528i? 540's are a little out of my price range, but im finding a lot of 528's with good mileage. im gonna go check one out soon and take it for a ride, but just thought id get some feedback.

yea my moms has a 528i. Great car, but the auto GM 4 speed sucks. They didnt get a newer 5 speed zf auto until 99 or 00. Just make sure u find a sport package one! There is a sweet looking one for sale in charlotte with 92k, hes asking 10,900.

jesus, you people get defensive at the slightest remark

scottyc, ive told you before, the mustang is in the garage in rocky mount, in raleigh i have our family's old 96 cherokee with 197k on it, but I have no qualms against racing you if you want me to bring the stang up one weekend, im not claiming I will win, as I never say "Im gonna whip your ass", but yea, lets race sucka.

btw, at least you got something other than one of those old shitty boxy style bmws that would fall apart if I snap my fingers or rev my motor

^ I know some mustangs are fairly unreliable, the v6 models more so than GTs; its fairly inconsistent really, some never have problems, others are riddled with them, mine has been fairly untroublesome, ive had rear differential leak ($100), throw out bearing worn out ($265 because I went ahead and replaced the clutch at the same time), and a leak on the timing chain cover gaskets (close to $500 because I replaced the cover, timing chain, and water pump while i was in there). but other than that, no problems on the 302 after 103k miles.

but anyway, I had an uncle with one of the older boxier style (sorry not up on the "e30, 3xx" names for eras) but he said it was the biggest piece of shit he ever owned, and my neighbor in the late 90s had one that had something else break everytime I turned around, so maybe my assesment is not the norm, but just relating what ive been told

its a 94 gt, look at my name, with aftermarket heads, cam, intake manifold, tb, cold air bullshit, headers, off road x pipe, catback, gears, pullies and im sure im forgetting something else; but in the cold weather on street tires ive pulled off a 13.26, in the summer my best was a 14.02, not all that fast, im aware, no need to tell me this, but if you read, I wasnt saying "Im going to walk your shit", so stop being so defensive about everything.

E30 I-6 motors are one of the best and most reliable engines ever built, if not for present, definitely for its time.

will do. this car already has full suspension, swaybars, strut bars, corbeaus, ltw flywheel, exhaust, chip, intake, wheels. would make a good base for a track car.

yeah my first e30 had 270k on it, my second had 250k and my current has 212k definitly SUPER unreliable. sounds like your uncle (and your family from the way you talk) is a whore eating peice of shit that cant take care of cars.

by that same note then how are mustang GTs unreliable, I have very seldom heard of one that was real unreliable. I swear some of you on here would take it in the ass from BMW's engineers, and probably spank it to pics of m3s and the 7 series; the name of this should probably be changed from "the garage" to "the church of BMW"

I shit on the threads because practically no one in here is capable of having a normal conversation about cars, and anytime someone talks about a car that some of you think is inferior they get shit on hardcore and you usually run them off like this place is some sort of elite country club. So I shit on the threads like other people in here get shit on.Plus, its fun now.

although i would most likely never put a flowmaster on a vehicle again, I will admit that a pair of them on a mustang is quite a wonderful sound.

i think alot of the bmw stuff in here is gay too, but that's no exscuse to post dumbass remarks, then get pissed when you're called on them.

how ironic-not neccesarily to you, but a lot of people on here, including my long time rivalry with ol scottyc up there

Quote :
"suspend... he openly admits to purposely ruining threads and trolling."

hahahahaha Im not ruining threads by any means, I think ive made some remarks that people got heated about maybe 2 or 3 times in the past 3 months; and even then, im voicing my opinion, not "trolling" or "ruining the thread" its not some work of art or anything, and if its really that big of a deal, then just ignore it, damn. Plus, how is this any different than a large portion of people in the garage, I promise you if I was new to the site and wanted to come in here and talk about ANY american v8, I would get "trolled" and shit on, and you know it

Quote :

Im by no means getting pissed, im as calm as day; I could care less about getting called on making a dumbass remark in response to others' dumbass remarks

^^please, you get defensive as hell every time someone comes back at you about your ragged ass 5.0.

my only point is, if you're going to talk shit about people's stuff have something legitimate to back it up with besides "my grandpa's second cousin's mother owned one that broke alot". i butt heads with people around here occasionally also, but 99% of the time it's over technical issues or posting wrong information. not just to start a flame war and piss off people for the hell of it.

also, get your head out of your ass and learn there's more to the automotive world than domestics. whether you like it or not, many of those ding dang foreigners make a pretty good vehicle, and have for a long time.

well, as a former BMW owner and as someone who's driven a number of their products, I will vouch that BMW has their shit together. There is a reason that a bunch of "car guys" are going to tend to like them.
