http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/articles/0125flopping-ON.htmlany truth to this?thoughts?opinions?would this actually make NBA basketball more credible?

so this would be analogous to a yellow card for taking a falli like itthe serbians and croatian ballers might not

As long as it's a blatant flop.Plus they need to start calling charges more consistently, sometimes it takes a flop to show the ref you just got mugged.

Vlade is glad he's retired

I agree that sometimes it takes a flop to get an official's attentionbut goddamn.... some of that shit is an outright theatrical performance hahah, yeah Vlade was BAAAAD about doing that. I almost wanted to buy that guy pads for when he hit the ground]

they should fine people for saying bullshit too, like Kobe's stiff arm being "unintentional"

No way. Tell him to get his ass off the floor and leave it at that. The NHL tries to pretend that diving is a penalty, and they call one dive out of every 200. Erik Cole hits the deck three times a game and everyone knows it and it's never called. It's not even worth making it an infraction.[Edited on February 3, 2007 at 12:35 AM. Reason : 4]

should make it a shot clock reset like a kickball

This thread makes Shane Battier cry.

They need to fix that bullshit whereby if a pump fake draws a defender into the air, the offensive player can slam into the defender, halfass attempt a shot, and get a foul called... if the defender is wild and flailing, then yeah call a foul on him, but I've seen far too many guys go straight up & down without so much as swatting at the ball and they are always called for fouls.

This decreases the value of a duke basketball education.
2/3/2007 1:26:32 AM
^^ so?that's a fouland manu ginobli is crying in a corner
2/3/2007 4:41:27 AM
it shouldnt be a foul, though. Not if the shooter initiates the contact.

^^ Pacers fan?I've seen guys (the defender) get their arms fractured over this shit. Shooters shouldn't be allowed to intentionally throw themselves into a defender IF THE DEFENDER GOES STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN.I do agree with the rule presented by the OP though, a 6'0" 170 lb guard cannot knock over a 6'9" 250 lb. power forward.
