I have had a SA3100HD receiver for a couple years that starting a couple weeks ago will not allow me to watch ABCHD. the picture flashes about on and off about one per sec. It can view the SD content on this channel with no problems.

Is there a way to fix this on my end? i have already tried unpluggin it. i don't want to call TWC because i get lots of other channels that aren't on my bill due to their error.

I dont really want to watch anything on this channel until September so i can live with it till then if i have to

Are you watching this over HDMI on a non-HDCP enabled television?

what setting do you have the cable box on?

are you forcing 720p,1080i,1080p?
is it set to pass-through the signal? (keeping it in its original resolution)

^ no idea

how would one check that?

i think a SA3100HD converts everything to 1080i on the component output but not sure

there is an option in the setup menu of the cable box, which lets you decide how to send signals to your tv.

figure out what resolutions your TV is capable of (or better yet, your tv's native resolution [probably 720p]) and set the cable box to 'force' the appropriate resolution.

problem solved.

after some googling i see that the component output is locked at 1080i on a SA3100HD. Which is fine since that is the native resolution of my CRT

it's probably just restricted to 1080i (meaning it can't do 1080p, but can do lower resolutions).

This probably won't fix your problem, but you could try forcing 720p or a different resolution and seeing if that changes anything.
