For the fluids people here:

When calculating a Reynolds number, what units are the input terms supposed to be in?

((length/time)(length))/(length^2/time)

That's it? Just use meters?

EDIT: nm, I think I figured out what I was doing wrong

1. you should at the very least have a text book that tells you this

2. if you do not have a text book for your fluids class, that alone is infinite times more stupid than this thread

Reynolds Numbers are the least of your worries

This thread's not dead yet?

Anyway, INPUT units, not final units. I'm aware that Re is unitless.

density[mass/volume]*Velocity[length/time]*diameter[length]/viscosity[mass/(length*time)]

so in english units

[lbm/ft^3]*[ft/s]*[ft]/[lbm/(ft*s)]

or in metric

[kg/m^3][m/s][m]/[N*s/m^2)

those should all cancel out

basically just make sure the units cancel out. you could use lightyears if you wanted to.
