If this is in regards to the free throw thread I made, FUCK YOU.If not, my apologies.
1/25/2007 11:08:22 AM
if herb was here, fells wouldnt even be playing
1/25/2007 11:15:55 AM
yeah, he would have transferred.
1/25/2007 11:16:38 AM
good to see atsur back and looking fairly good.
1/25/2007 11:17:07 AM
Gavin Grant is an all american. Did you see his moves in the post last night?
1/25/2007 11:22:37 AM
^kill yourself
1/25/2007 11:23:01 AM
1/25/2007 11:27:02 AM
^nah i figure he would start fells but then as soon as fells drove to the basket instead of launching a 3, he would bench him...assuming he drove the basket, made the hoop and hit the ensuing free throw
1/25/2007 11:28:03 AM
Honestly, I was pissed at Herb for not playing Fells last year... but after seeing him this year I sort of understand why. He is fuckign maddening. He has so much talent but looks like he doesn't give a fuck and is a liability on defense..and PackBacker is correct. He would be forced to use him this year regardless of defensive effort.
1/25/2007 12:12:49 PM
brackman, simmons, and hodge leftand astur is outthats 4 guys gone for this year pretty much
1/25/2007 12:28:47 PM
Hodge graduated 2 years ago... and that doesn't make what you said any less wrong..
1/25/2007 12:30:44 PM
^^ haha is this the first time youve ever payed attn to basketball??? we lost bennerman, bethel, brackman. big ced, and eptimov (although many will argue he was no huge loss). bringing hodge up is fucking retarded, he left 2 years ago
1/25/2007 12:42:12 PM
I brought up Hodge because no one ever stepped up to fill his shoes. There is still a huge fucking gap on that floor when it comes to leaders and who to pass it to in tight situations.
1/25/2007 12:51:15 PM
GAVIN GRANT FILLS HODGE'S SHOESHE'S FUCKIN AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1/25/2007 2:23:53 PM
^gavin is struggling right now to put it mildly. Being real with him, I would say to him that he is playing the worst basketball I have ever seen in my life from a supposed team leader and a guy that couldn't wait to get into Sidney's system b/c it fits him so well. On another note, the biggest problem this year is DEFENSE!!!! Like the fact that we don't play any; Fells loafs like a mofo, costner's feet are stuck in cement on d but on o he is surprisingly quick, grant is ok at times on d and not ok others, and mccauley is serviceable at best in the postthis is the only knock that I have on Lowe so far; he is obviously recruiting well, but he is not TEACHING team defense. Herb's offense may have sucked, but we rarely got killed b/c we played good team man to man defense. With SId, we may win a few more on O but lose a few more on D. And don't give me the its good strategy because we have no depth crap; these guys are 19-22 years old and could run for three hours every night in a gym. We need to play better defense.

^^Depth has a lot more to do with this team than conditioning. For one, our 5th and 6th man are trash for the most part. Horner can play the game, but he's not ready for this level. He needed a year before being thrust into as much action as he's seeing. With more, better players, Sidney can jerk someone out who is having a bad game defensively or offensively and put in someone who will create a better matchup against certain opponents. Sure, we can run for days, but thats not the goal. The goal is to win, and you need depth to win week in and week out.

I BROUGHT UP DAVID THOMPSON BECAUSE NO ONE, IN THE LAST 30 YEARS, HAS EVER STEPPED UP TO FILL HIS SHOES
1/25/2007 3:10:17 PM
1/25/2007 3:17:39 PM
what pisses me off about fells/herb is that herb barely played him any and decided to start playing him late in the year? and he could have been redshirted but herb found it better to play him in 4 late games instead?thx herbie
1/25/2007 3:21:11 PM
1/25/2007 3:26:18 PM
^is that like "Esquire" or "Junior"?
1/25/2007 3:27:48 PM
bring back evitmov
1/25/2007 4:58:48 PM
we will never recover from the loss of Will Roach
1/25/2007 5:10:39 PM
Hell, Ev could run the point better than Gavin.
1/25/2007 5:34:34 PM
After watching last night...Gavin is trash, Costner and Fells are lazy (could be due to the excessive playing time, but i still call them lazy), Fergie isn't near what he was talked up to be (could be because he lacks the PT experience, but i doubt that), Atsur did better at 60-70% at the point than Gavin ever did, McCauley is a beast and is playing better than anyone expected him to, and lastly, I think next year will be a lot better. At first we won't be that great, but should still be able to beat easy teams as our new PG gets into the system and we get team chemistry with our new found depth. /Rant[Edited on January 25, 2007 at 6:53 PM. Reason : Overall, I think Sid is doing a good job.]
1/25/2007 6:52:55 PM
i'll give you the "Fells is lazy" thing last night...but everything else is pretty much just a game-to-game rant...Gavin obviously doesnt suck, and Costner leading ACC freshmen in scoring and rebounding would be kind of difficult if he was lazy[Edited on January 25, 2007 at 7:00 PM. Reason : BARTOSZ FOR PRESZIDENT]

these guys were recruited to play in herbs systemby not playing in herb's system, they're automatically not going to perform as well
1/25/2007 7:11:09 PM
i hear that but dont you think with certain players, like fells and grant, they needed to be able to do more than herb's system allowed?also how about ben mac? he is balling out as a low post player...herb would probably have him jacking 3s...or realistically he would be on some jordan collins top of the key wild pivot foot shit
1/25/2007 7:14:18 PM
nahben would be the second generation of brackmancostner's 3 would have been more refinedas would fell's 3 in addition to being more disciplined on defensegavin would play the pseudo-Hodge role--defintely lacking the passion and emotion thoughand Ferguson would be a lot more confident than he is (i think the coaching change affected him more than anyone else currently on the team)most of the guys would absolutely hate playing for herb, but we'd be winning a few more games than we havenot saying we'd be great, but we'd be a bit better[Edited on January 25, 2007 at 7:25 PM. Reason : i think herb knew his system was getting tired and had he stayed it would have transitioned...slowly]
