lol go lil' miss sunshine!
1/23/2007 10:56:31 AM
Fuck LMS.GO RYAN GOSLING!@ Seriously.
1/23/2007 11:02:36 AM
I was surprised at the noms that the departed got. Picking markey mark out of that ensemble for the one acting nomination was surprising to me (not that he didn't deserve it!). Damon or DiCaprio could have easily been nominated. Also Affleck in Hollywoodland should have been nominated imho.
1/23/2007 11:12:33 AM
I thought Dreamgirls was going to get a nomination for Best Picture, but it didn't.
1/23/2007 11:15:43 AM
Im glad Ryan Gosling and Paul Greengrass got something for those films. Still cant believe Cuarón didnt get a directing nod. Go these people not even watch the films?
1/23/2007 11:28:26 AM
Water should beat out Pan's Labyrinth for best foreign language film, but I know it won't.If Curse of the Golden Flower doesn't win costume design, something is terribly amiss. I guess I'd settle for Marie Antoinette.
1/23/2007 11:40:21 AM
I got my ballet and im already trying to fill it out. Some really tough categories though (Best Picture, Supporting Actress, Costume Design, etc.).
1/23/2007 2:24:33 PM
Suprised The Fountain got no love when many critics listed it as a top 10 movie from 2006.
1/23/2007 2:56:35 PM
1/23/2007 2:59:01 PM
^^ Oh shit, I didn't even notice. That's just wrong. WRONG. They should've gotten a nod for visual effects if nothing else.
1/23/2007 3:12:41 PM
Yeah I liked the visuals. It was a great movie, suprised it got no love at all.
1/23/2007 7:36:28 PM
It should have gotten a best soundtrack nod at least. Clint Mansell + Mogwai = Money.
1/23/2007 7:49:24 PM
As usual for early releases, Thank You For Smoking was snubbed.
1/23/2007 11:16:33 PM
tonight
2/25/2007 2:11:20 PM
An Inconveient Truth -- Best Documentary That movie was worse that some scientific documentaries that accompianed my 5th grade science book.
2/25/2007 11:19:26 PM
the actress in supporting role should go to any of Babel actresses
2/25/2007 11:28:01 PM
^^ Of course it won best documentary, just like the Dixie Chicks won best album/single/etc.
2/25/2007 11:29:11 PM
And it took best songT-minus 4 seconds until the NAACP writes up a conspiracy theory, and they should. That song is utter rubbish. I've heard more technical / moving songs on a Justin Timberlake CD.
2/25/2007 11:31:38 PM
Fuck this... Children of Men shoulda def won Cinematography
2/25/2007 11:33:28 PM
Dombest goddamn montage I'v ever seen.[Edited on February 25, 2007 at 11:44 PM. Reason : haha. dombest.]
2/25/2007 11:39:41 PM
At least Rocky IV made an appearance.
2/25/2007 11:41:02 PM
When did Jack Nicholson get the Britney Spears haircut?
2/25/2007 11:45:16 PM
Scorsese finally got it! Congrats!
2/26/2007 12:08:28 AM
i loved the montage and presentation for ennio morricone, the music he created for the good the bad and the ugly, once upon a time in the west, and the untouchables is just phenomenal and its one of the reasons i can watch those movies over and over again.really happy that forest whitaker won.i'm really happy that thelma schoonmaker won and of course martin scorosese finally getting his best director oscar but... he definitely got it for the wrong film. what was that quote they announced something like "scorsese has said that the departed was the worst movie he's made with a plot"? did i hear that wrong?overall the rest of the awards were well deserved and a few were very predictable.
2/26/2007 12:35:57 AM
^first movie he has made with a plot
2/26/2007 12:37:23 AM
hmmm well thats a little more interesting to think about.
2/26/2007 12:48:31 AM
2/26/2007 1:08:16 AM
I agree, Children of Men had some damn-good cinematography, I was really pulling for it. But I'm still suprised that The Fountain got no love in that category.
2/26/2007 1:29:40 AM
2/26/2007 1:30:33 AM
The "car scene" along in Children of Men should've took home an award...I felt like I was the one getting mobbed in the movie theaterAnd WTF was that potshot about "first movie w/ a plot?" Clearly I don't understand the definition of plot, b/c I could've sworn his other movies had one.
2/26/2007 7:17:27 AM
2/26/2007 7:27:16 AM
Okay, so for the 99.5% of the population that DIDN'T know that, the announcer just blasted it like it was common knowledge. Seriously, of all the things in the world you could say about someone, that was a retarded choice all the way around.
2/26/2007 8:43:42 AM
2/26/2007 10:15:42 AM
2/26/2007 11:31:33 AM
as far as the original song goes. i predicted (correctly i think) that all the dreamgirls' votes would get split up because there were 3 nominations without one clear standout. that leaves two songs, and inconvenient truth is the obvious choice because hollywood likes lesbians and democrats.
2/26/2007 11:35:58 AM
It was Diane Keaton that said it, not some male announcer.
2/26/2007 1:30:38 PM
2/26/2007 1:53:44 PM
ya southpaw you are slumping herethe announcer def said "marty said....."
2/26/2007 10:00:10 PM
