My wife was given a mink shawl from my great-aunt. But we won't buy fur, not out of some love of animals, but because its too damn expensive.

Looks like SOMEONE owns a LEATHER COAT. What about the poor cows, huh? Maybe we should show your kid that flyer when he's walking to the bus from kindergarten?

I don't have any furs and I wouldn't buy one new, but my mother has two that were passed down from her grandmother. I don't object to the flyer's ideas - anti-cruelty - but the way it's presented is over the line inflammatory IMO. The majority of kids who'd be receiving this I'm guessing don't have parents that own furs, so all it does is cause unnecessary family turmoil.

Animals are ment to be eatten thats why they are there. If we weren't going to eat them we would just kill them all because there isn't enough food in the wild for them.

I agree to an extent with wolfpack1100 ... the things we humans don't eat are becoming more and more scarce. Part of the reason the dodo is extinct is the people invading the island didn't see fit to keep them around since they didn't taste good. I'm not saying it's right but it is a convenient fact. Besides, if humans aren't meant to eat meat, then (a) why do we have canine teeth designed for ripping meat and (b) why do we digest it so well?
