new equinoxs don't have a dip stick for the tranny. Is there a fill plug to check the tranny? alldata anyone??

If it's anything like how Ford decided to do it, the only thing you have to work with is the plug in the bottom of the tranny. It's a tube that goes up into the pan so that you pump in fluid until it runs over the top of the internal tube and comes running back down all over your arm. Like a standpipe in the dam of a goddam pond.At least that's how Ford does it now. I don't know about Chevy.

i used to have an alero with a 4T45E that didnt have a dipstick. you just took the cap off and filled the mofo up when it was hot, running and in park after you went though all the gears.

was there a cap marked trans oil or was this more like a plug??
