Basically saying blue-ray and hd-dvd might not work to the extent you want because vista will dumb it down in order to protect da man. Another problem is that this will make the processor work harder

Microsoft but the same DRM features that are in set top boxes into vista.

And as of yet, no one has used the downgrade feature yet. Probably due to the lack of widespread HDCP usage.

If you want to blame anyone, blame the content providers. If you want to actually do something about it, dont buy hddvd/blue-ray discs and/or pirate the movies instead.
